Fits fine and easy to install

A quality mounting kit to attach spare tire to boat trailer. I added a lock for extra security. I'd buy it again and would recommend this to family and friends. I did cut the threaded ends off about 3" per side on the U bolt just to make sure the boat can't touch them when loading. A nice, clean setup.

Holds my spare tire for the trailer just right. I can even lock it down if needed. Great quality product for the price.

It worked

I needed a way to secure my spare tire to my utility trailer. I wrapped this U-Bolt around the tongue so the tire is on top. Put a padlock on it and I am good to go. The tire is secure and someone is going to need bolt cutters if they want to steal it.

Inexpensive but modestly secure solution for carrying your spare trailer tire.

This tire carrier is basic and inexpensive. If basic function is all you are concerned with and maximum security is not a huge concern this is a fine option. If security is a concern this is probably not the best solution for you. You can secure the tire with a decent lock, but the unit itself can be cut fairly easily.

Side Mount would be easier with two people

Mounting the spare tire on the side of the trailer tongue is a bit of a pain with only one person. I'll probably tack weld it so I don't have to support the tire, hold it in place, and screw on the latches all at the same time. I like the ability to padlock the latches. It will keep them from loosening as well as keep the spare from getting stolen.

Get the right width!

The first one of these I bought was too short in width. This one was the right width. The only negative is that the bolt part was not as thick and strong. The other one also came with lug nuts which also helped with strength. The smaller screw on locks could strip out so I am buying some nuts and will probably attach with JB Weld.

Easy to install, does the job!

Works great for my needs. Currently using a bolt and nut with washers until I buy a lock. Things I didn’t know when buying that could be helpful: This does not come with any nuts to screw it down. It works by tightening down each bracket by hand until snug, then you overlap them to make the hole you put a lock through (or bolt/nut in my case).

Not a good fit or value

This unit is very simple for what you pay for but more importantly its about 1/4 inch short of my trailer rail so it widens once bolted and then doesnt fit the tire holes. Not happy
