Chrysleri eelistatud varurehvikandja nr 1! Alates esimese spiraalvedru tõstekomplekti loomisest uue TJ Wrangleri jaoks on Treacle olnud Jeep Wrangleri turul uuenduste ja jõudluse esirinnas. Kunagi loorberitele puhkamata jäänud, tõstsime latti taas kõrgemale, kasutades uuenduslikku JK/JKU Alpha raskeveokite hingedega tagavararehvihoidjat ja Alpha raskeveokite reguleeritava varurehvi paigalduskomplekti. Meie JK/JKU Alpha raskeveokite hingedega varurehvihoidja mitte ainult ei jätnud meie konkurentide pead ringi käima, vaid inspireeris neid ka oma hingedega tagavararehvikandurit välja töötama. Very pleased with this carrier- I have 285 70 R17 BFG KO2 tires on. It took me a while to install because I was borrowing my dads garage and tools, so it took a little bit to find everything I needed, but overall it was pretty straight forward, I did use blue lock title as others suggested. *there was a little spot that was gouged in the paint (see picture), and I do wish it was a bit cheaper. It is very solid and seems to hold my spare with no trouble at all. The most difficult parts of the install for me being a 5”5 150lbs female were: -lifting the spare tire on and off multiple times. -finding a spacer nut to use for pulling the bolts that hold the tire on through. -finding something to use for a spacer for holding the tailgate up when you take off the old hinges. - I also had trouble getting the third brake light wire off (not related to the carrier but wanted to mention) the tab you push down is hard to push down and pull at the same time. -it was hard to use the included L shaped tool because it wasn’t long enough to get leverage on it to undo those hard to reach bolts on the hinge. -The included paper directions are slightly different from the YouTube video directions so I used a combo of both, I do remember a few things weren’t mentioned- for example the bolts that go under the adjustable mount it doesn’t specify where to put the black spacers, or which way the lock nut and washer need to go.

35" tires. 2hr install. Seems solid. Watch Teraflex video for install.
YouTube video shows a four bolt hole pattern for the tire carrier compared to my three. If you bout the tire carrier and hinge assembly you'll have a few extra parts - it's okay if you read the instructions.

Good product
Good product. Way over priced. But hey if people will pay for it then keep the price there, just like oil prices and gas. That's why no 5 star. Install went good. Instructions could be more detailed for a product you just dropped 700$+ for. The Youtube for Teraflex is a great help but update your video. The piece i got to mount the tire has 3 size options on it, not the 4 in the video. The instructions need to be detailed a little bit more, or at least match the youtube video. They are close but for 700$ you guys need to have this nailed! Lots of OCD people out there that want things to be exact, and they should be for 700$. Anyways install went good. FYI when installing the adjustable mount mark the holes on your rim where the studs go through. My tire has multiple holes for different vehicles. Try holding the 100+ tire up trying to find the right holes to match. Sucks! Small details like that in the instructions would really help. This unit is very sturdy and strong. Tire rattle is less, but not all that sure that is completely gone non existent. Still hunting that down, so not to sure. Its much better than stock for sure, but it should for 700$. As you can see the biggest downfall is the cost, but i guess you get what you pay for so i am still waiting for this thing to turn my jeep gold. All things aside, i much rather have this unit than a 1200$ bumper and tire holder unit and have issues. I went this direction because i couldn't find anyone completely sold on a great bumper tire combo. This way i am not limited on my bumper choice either when i upgrade it. Will update when i give this thing a good test. So far its OK. Truth will be in time and probably some small adjustments. I know its just one day so i'll give it time to prove itself. UPDATE: Having this on now for several weeks i will have to say it is doing a great job. No noise at all. When i took my doors off and the hardtop off to see how the noise was, its SILENT. Hope that it stays that way.

Amazing product for aftermarket tires and wheels
The media could not be loaded. This is an amazing product and exactly what I was looking for. I have a 2014 Jeep Wrangler and the Amazon page told me this product would not fit my vehicle. It does, in fact, fit a 2014 Wrangler. Basically, your stock jeep has a design flaw in which the entire weight of the spare tire is mounted on a cheap tire carrier, which is mounted to the weak sheet metal of your tailgate. If you put any serious amount of weight onto that carrier setup you will eventually see your tailgate warp and the rivets pop. To correct this, Teraflex designed the HD Hinged Tire Carrier Kit. This kit makes it so that your spare tire now mounts to the stronger Teraflex spare tire mount. This mount is connected to the very strong HD Hinged Tire Carrier assembly, which bolts to the hinges on your Jeep, rather than to some weak sheet metal. Installation was very easy. I am far from the most handy guy on the planet, and it only took me two hours. This included a trip to the local hardware store. Before installation, definitely watch the Teraflex install video and make sure to have all the tools that Teraflex recommends. I have seen that some people painted underneath where the stock hinges were located. I did not bother to do this, because the Teraflex tire carrier hinges go right over that same spot anyways. The product itself works as advertised. I have gone off road approximately five times since I installed this tire carrier. My spare tire (approximately 90lbs) has not moved at all. The alternative to the Teraflex HD Hinged Carrier is to purchase a new rear bumper that includes a spare tire mount. Unfortunately, most of the spare tire carriers require you to give up one handed operation of your tailgate. Opening the tailgate becomes a two step process. First you have to disconnect and swing out the tire carrier. Only then can you open your tailgate. I did not want to give up one handed operation of my tailgate, and Teraflex offered the perfect solution.

Worth every penny.
Extremely well made and designed. Went on perfectly and the tire now fits tight and snug against the gate; no more bounce/rattle (running 33x12.5r17's). As solid as could be. I cross-threaded one of the mounting studs and TerraFlex customer was fantastic; sent me a replacement at no charge within 3 days. Highly recommend.

I had a swing gate installed and hated it, I purchased this as a replacement. Teraflex's hinged tire carrier is a straight forward one access point and a very well made product. Super easy to let the dogs in and out the back of my 2 door

I bought this because of others great reviews and I was not disappointed! I needed to replace the factory hinges as they were starting to fail. Instructions are clearly written and easy to follow. Absolutely love this product.
