Fuller sound than sleep apps

If you like the sound of an actual fan, then you will likely prefer this to sleep apps. It's also just a little fuller of a sound, it seems to fill the space a little bit more. Not 100% necessity or life-changing for me, but still nice and soothing. I like it on the lowest setting. There is no rattling or whining at any setting. I wish it would encase me in a noise canceling bubble like my headphones, but sadly physics doesn't work like that. This is the next best thing.

Sounds like a real fan, but wasn’t right for me

It’s cool the way this product works. There are two different parts you can rotate in order to change the quality and volume of the sound. It really does sound like a fan. The problem for me is that I’ve spent the last two years listening to a LectroFanEVO every night - which is an electronic white noise. So I’ve gotten used to here a kind of perfect, monotone sound. Whereas the Dohm has a more textured/layered sound, if that makes sense. It’s also a lot louder than the LectroFanEVO, even at the quietest setting (that is to say, the LectroFan volume can be set lower than the Dohm). My husband liked the Dohm, so we’re keeping it but will put it in the guest room. I think if you just like some background noise but you don’t get to fussy about the way that noise sounds, you’ll like the Dohm. If you’re like me, and you get distracted by undertones or irregular noises while you’re trying to sleep, you might prefer an electronic noise machine.

This product is awesome...

This is a great product!!! i am a brown noice type of person. I live in a city and my window face the street. I have tried many different products but this works best. The reason I like it is because, unlike the ones that have multiple types of sounds which at some point your brain picks up the pattern of the sound, this does not since it uses a brushless motor that will NEVER repeat the same sound again. The body of the device, which can be modified to increase the sound or change its pitch, is simple and sturdy. I highly recommend it.

Good quality.

It helps a lot to cover unwanted noise from neighbors on other side of apartment wall…especially in the late hours of the night, if you know what I mean. They win and I win by not being disturbed while I sleep. I’ve had it on pretty much every night and when ever I don’t want to hear anyone else, works as well as it did the day I received it.

Really helps my kid sleep

I bought this for my 6-year-old son because he always insists on having either the fan or heater running at bedtime just for the noise. Not any more! This sound machine sounds just like the fan/heater and he loves adjusting the volume to his preference. I definitely recommend this.

Great White Noise

This device provides great white noise for my husband and myself. If one of us is snoring, it helps to drown it out and allow the other restful sleep. Our cat likes to meow in the middle of the night, and it’s a great help to drown her out as well

I was skeptical at first but am really surprised!

I have tried so many white noise machines and none of them worked. So I was really nervous about getting this one. I watched a lot of reviews on YouTube about the Yogasleep Dohm and still wasn't convinced. So I took a chance and bought it. This is much different than other sound machines because most of them are just electric sound devices with different sounds like water, white noise, or fire crackling. This machine is just a small fan inside of a plastic dome, and the difference is because it's air movement, which is a more natural sound. If you're used to using fans for white noise, then grab this instead of the other sound machines. I'm very happy with this purchase.

The Best

At a young age I became reliant on the calming drone of a box fan in order to fall asleep. In the past I owned on other machine similar to the Yogasleep Dohm but ended up giving it away because I was unsatisfied by the harsh overtones it produced in the upper spectral range. I went back to the trusty box fan despite having to tolerate the unnecessary air flow it produced. After some time I came across the Dohm online after seeing a friend post a picture of one they encountered in their hotel room. I’m glad I made this purchase. The plastic used is very nice quality and the switch feels nice. As for the sound I couldn’t be happier. Between the two rotating vents and the two fan intensity settings a wide range of tones and volume levels can be dialed in. I like to keep mine at the low fan setting with the bottom vent in the closed position and the upper vent partially open. This produces a tonally darker noise. I’ve found that the more the vents are opened, the more high frequency information is produced by the machine (similar to the opening a high-pass filter in audio electronics). The long cable with no wall adapter is also a nice feature. I would not hesitate to recommend the Yogasleep Dohm to a friend or family member. I think one would be hard-pressed to find a finer fan based machine such as this.

???? Received a Dangerous Dud

☹️ Maybe just bad luck but my noise machine sobbed in good condition but after the first use it got very hot on the bottom and made a weird flapping sound after running for an hour or so. Extremely dangerous for using in a baby room overnight with no one watching. ???? I noticed there was no quality control sticker on the item, essentially meaning they are not checked for Quality Assurance prior to shipping which most companies do. Not the best business practice.

Looks nice, but not better than the classic.

We have been using the classic version of this white noise machine for several years and love it. when we had a baby we decided to pickup a second one for his room. We decided to try out this newer model with the blue accents. It looks super nice--a lot nicer than the classic, but it sounds slightly less louder than the classic. I would estimate the classic is roughly 10-15% louder than this model. Not really that big of a deal as they're both really loud, and it's probably better to have it not so loud with an infant. But if you're looking for the louder of the two, go with the classic.

A real fan makes all the difference

Much better than artificial sounds generated by digital white noise machines. No annoying pattern repeats, just real white noise. We bought this to drown out street noise, including cars and conversations outside our window and it works better than expected. Nice to have a bunch of different sound settings (and no low level rattle) compared to the base model we exchanged. Would buy again in a heartbeat.
