Amazing

Recommended by 'Homestead Tessie', and she was right!!

With the price of utilities going crazy, I'm cutting back on everything I can without having to carry around a flashlight. These fit the bill perfectly. When I saw them in a product review on the 'Homestead Tessie' channel, I liked what I saw. Easy to install and not too obtrusive, the solar panels are a snap to put up. The light is bright enough to read by, or can be dimmed down sufficiently to provide walking safety during a power outage or at night. The design is subtle enough to fit with most decor, and with the solar panels fully charged, these lights are ready to go to work. That feature alone is something that's going to be important, since winters in Maine inevitably involve power outages. I have a famous name camping lantern, but with that comes fumes that become an issue after a while. For now, with two of these in place, I'm ready to weather the storm. These would also be great for tent camping, outside activities, and dozens of other applications. I will be purchasing more as the need arises.

Odd mounting bracket

I've had dozens of solar products - and every one which had a 'pivot' type mount for the collector used "gear teeth" on the two ends of the mounts so that they would mesh as you tightened the nut - thereby locking it into the desired position. This unit has the teeth on one half, but none on the other half. So, there is no locking it into place, you just have to tighten down on the plastic parts pretty hard and hope that they don't crack. Even then it still isn't latched well into place. I couldn't get mine to turn on at first - tried several times. Then I finally discovered that I needed to have the remote within 6 feet of the light - then it finally worked. Puts out good amount of light. Nice selectable levels and "colors".

I had those little globe lights on my pergola, and as it turns out, they were NOT weather proof. Not even a little bit. All the globes filled with water. On top of that they barely gave off any light. I wanted something else that would actually be weatherproof and give off enough light to be able to see. I am so impressed with this light that I'm here ordering 3 more; another for my pergola and two for the front porch. The only "downfall" is that you have to be close for the remote to work. But the different brightness levels and "shades" of light is everything I hoped for. I am redoing my pergola and porch and still waiting on a few items to be delivered, but I will add pictures as soon as both my projects are done

Oh oh

It won't stay on, had a year. When I hit 6H or any of the timers, no matter what brightness, it stays one for 30 seconds then turns off???? HELP.......

I bought this for my chicken house

I bought this for my chicken house so I could light up the inside of the chicken house. It’s easy to install. It has an on/off switch but I just set it to go on at dark. After it uses up the battery every night it turns off after a couple hours. Which is just what I wanted it to do. After a day of charging the process starts all over again. It gives me a piece of mind helping to scare off critters from the chicken coop. When and if this one quits working I would buy again.

Charge and check out how the features work before installation.

The instructions we’re pretty simple, however, they are written as if you already know how the light works. I installed before I figured out just how it works. If there is motion detector, I have not figured that out yet. I installed on the roof of a shed for a light inside. I had to go back up on the roof to get the remote to work. The instructions did not say to remove the plastic tab from the battery in the remote. That was fairly obvious. There was no indication as to what side should be up on the battery. It was opposite of what looked like a good fit for the battery. So that took two more trips to the roof to get it straight. Other than that installation was pretty straightforward and simple.

Save money

buying this light will save money on electric, very easy to set up, even works if overcast outside the light can be switched on. Going to buy more.

So fragile it was destroyed on arrival.

Although it did produce some light, installation would require gathering dozens of smashed pieces of plastic from the bottom of the box to glue back together. Fortunately the lampshade is such flimsy metal that it could easily be bent back into something resembling the correct shape. I'm going to save it for Christmas and give it to my mum as a jigsaw.

Neatly made and effective...

Great little kit to add illumination to a summerhouse or playhouse and because it's solar-powered and uses LED it's much safer and needs no mains wiring. The lampshade itself is metal and does resemble a smaller version of those industrial style pendants. The solar panel is a hefty little unit that seems well sealed against the elements and comes with variable mounts to fix it in place. There's only a short run of cable from the solar panel to a waterproof connector and that attaches to the much longer cable attached to the light and both are permanently attached. So assuming you're mounting the solar panel outdoors and the light indoors you'll have to make a hole big enough to get the connector through. There's a little remote supplied, which is a bit flimsy but gives a good range of control options and you can set various brightness levels and tones of white light together with timers to switch the light off after a given period. There's an option to have the light come on automatically at sunset which I was pleased to find, we have another similar light with no dusk-to-dawn feature and we miss it. Overall it's quite bright though hardly dazzling and seems to charges up quite well, though dull days don't keep it lit for that long. The light itself is very lightweight and easy to hang up but it all feels quite good quality and works well.

good waterproof light but smaller than expected

a great little solar powered light that does a brilliant job of keeping charge and keeping the required area well lit. although smaller than expected it lights up and disperses light really well. remote works well and the options to vary the light warmth or coolness as well as brightness suit its purpose around the shed area. easy to install and has a decent lead. solar panel is about the same size as the shade itself so charges well from little light - especially at this time of the year ad hold charge well. Would be great to take away on camping trips etc in future as no wiring necessary. happy with it but quality of shade could have been a little better.
