My New Favorite Flipper

After our old one broke, I read a lot of amazon reviews and decided to buy two flippers, this Westmark and an OXO. This Westmark flipper is by far the best of the two. It is more comfortable and effective in use, better built, and more durable. We really like it alot. On the other hand, the OXO flipper wound up in the recycling bin within a few weeks after it cracked and broke under light to moderate use. No big loss as it was not as comfortable or effective for cooking as the Westmark. We have many OXO products that we use and love (salt grinder, peeler, etc) so I was surprised that the OXO flipper was such a failure. Maybe we just got a defective one.

Excellent quality

I had a solid (without the holes) spatula from Westmark that I purchased nearly 40 years ago when in Germany. It's worked very well all that time although a few years ago I got it a bit too hot on the end and seemed to melt it. I was skeptical whether this one, especially with the slots in it, could be a good replacement for that solid one as I like it for chopping up foods in pans, scraping, etc. Well, I'm very pleased that this indeed is an excellent replacement -- just as solid and high quality. No doubt this new one will now outlast me!

Who writes reviews about a spatula? I do! This is a terrific kitchen tool. I only wish I had found it earlier. Never lets me down - functional, quality made and delivery was quick. What's not to love? Highly recommend.

Very surprised

It really doesn't seem like a quality spatula just looking at it but it really gets after it when I'm cooking. The thin edge gets under eggs with ease and it's plenty wide enough to flip em without breaking the yoke. Money well spent. Also I have no problem with the handle melting. Must be an improvement from past reviews.

I also have a very similar name brand spatula that cost a LOT more. This one is just fine. I really like that it has a thin edge and is good on my nonstick pans.

Better than expected

If you're reading this, you're probably looking for a spatula that's safe for non-stick pans, but is also thin enough to easily flip something as delicate as a fried egg. Well, that's exactly what I was looking for too, and I'm so glad I took a chance on this one despite all the reviews about how easily this spatula melts. I have been using this spatula for 2 months now, and I've used it on a variety of different foods and temperatures. I have not experienced ANY of the melting issues that others have, so I wonder if the manufacturer changed the material they use to make this item? Not sure, but my spatula literally looks brand new after two months of use, and I even rest this spatula on the side of the pan while I'm cooking. No melting or burn marks whatsoever! Also, this spatula is thin enough to get under things like eggs and crepes, no problem. I also like that it's not one of those super bendable or floppy spatulas--it is firm but it gives a little bit, which is exactly what I wanted. This spatula really exceeded my expectations and it's the one I reach for now. So happy with this purchase.

It does what it's supposed to do!

Perfect light weight, sturdy, spatula for flipping burgers, eggs, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc. The curve helps lift food out of the pan effortlessly. Like my previous plastic spatula eggs are a bit hard to wash off if left to dry. Better to wash immediately or else may require some elbow grease or a scrubbing pad. A bit small for whole fish or large filets but all in I'm very satisfied.

On my third one because family members keep stealing them.

It is a nice and lightweight spatula, but still feels like quality. I’ve had to re-buy it twice now because my parents stole my first one and now my father in-law has stolen my second one. (Obviously they didn’t outright steal them, but they don’t know how online buying works so I just gave them away rather than deal with all that lol). Point is, I love this spatula and it was worth buying all 3 times.

Great purchase!

I think the shape and sturdiness of this turner are what make the difference. It feels good in your hand and isn't too thick for catching the edge of eggs or pancakes in a frying pan. If anything were to happen to this utensil in my kitchen I would first go through a period of devastation then promptly search out Amazon again for an exact duplicate.
