Love these for smoothing odd shapes and curves

This has been a game changer for me for my wooden trays with all their complex curves. These get in all those tight spaces that are unreachable with the hand sander and I had been sanding by hand which was taking forever. They also do seem to hold up pretty well as I've sanded many of my projects and the disc is still holding up really well. The paper seems sturdy and the grid adheres well. I've found that light pressure is best and using these on my benchtop drill press has been a BIG timesaver.

Great Accessorie

This is a nice addition to have available in your kit for those obscure spots and detail sanding. As long as you adjust your speed/rpm, you shouldn't have any problems. Very happy with what i was able to use this for. This also left a silky like smooth finish.

Leaves gray oil like residue on first use

I was very excited to try this product for 3d wood carving. I was hoping it would make cleanup a little faster. I tried it in a cordless drill and as soon as it touched the wood it appeared to smear a grayish grease/oil like residue on the carving. I stopped immediately and was able to remove it with some regular sandpaper after a light sanding. I'm not sure if it is a residue left after the manufacturing process but if it coats the entire sanding wheel I'm not sure I will be able to use it on wood. At the very least, I would try to break it in on some scrap to ensure it's not leaving residue on finish work. After checking the plastic bag it came in there was black residue on the inside as well.

Terrific tool !!

I make a lot of small toys and puzzles for kids on my scroll saw. Sanding can become a real chore with all the small curves and angles they have. This tool chucked into my drill press smooths them up in just one or two minutes with little effort on my part, a real time and labor saver. They last quite long time too, I am still using the original one I purchased a month ago and have finished about 20 wooden jigsaw puzzles with it. They are animal puzzles that are cut from 1/2" thick material and will average 3x 5 inches. Each puzzle will have 6 to eight pieces soothes adds up to a lot of sanding surfaces. Also, running my drill press around 1200 rpm if the wheel catches your finger or hand you can barely feel it, no torn skin at all [don't ask me how I know this]. All in all, a great tool, I am about ready to order my second one.

Kinda sorta

Sanding a cedar root; wanting to get into the cracks and crevasses. It was helpful, but not great. If the abrasive was on both sides of the flaps I think it would work better, but the size of the flaps is probably too big to really get down into the cracks, and I doubt this thing will last long. Probably should have bought a Sand-o-Flex but that’s an investment…
