When you need Puncture Resistance.

Had to up the thickness of the bags I was using in my CHAMBER style vacuum sealer from 3 mil to this 5 mil (the thickest I could find) when trying to package some extra coarse grain Himalayan sea salt. The 3 mil (0.003" thickness) SEEMED like it was working, but the next day the seals on nearly all packaged bags were lost due to numerous minute punctures from the sharp corners on the large salt chunks (5-8 mm or larger).

Potentially DANGEROUS

My conversation with UltraSource: "Can i use your 5mil pouches for sous-vide ? Can they be put in a hot water bath and are safe up to what temperature?"(there is a picture on the listing and they talk about sous vide.) "Hello ******, We don’t recommend using a non-high temp pouch for sous-vide. We recommend our boil in pouches. They are 3mil." They also sent me their Technical Data Sheet on their 5mil vacuum pouches. I asked them to change their listing on amazon to reflect that back in July and waited until October to give them this review in hopes they would fix it. They are telling people to use their product in a way that might dangerous to the publics health, and if i had not gone after the information i would have never known. Its one thing to make an honest mistake it is entirely different to have a mistake pointed out and not do something about it. Hopefully this will make them change their listing.(if they do or they confirm that it can be used that way i will change my rating)

They could be very good bags, but I gave them a 1 because they would not work with my weston sealer. Should be more clear on what they will work with.
