This meter has a built-in stand so you can place the sensor level, tilt up the meter and read the large display from 5 to 10 feet away. This avoids errors from your body's shadow. This meter is not intended for photographic use, but is accurate enough for such (potentially with a user supplied LUX/FC to ISO conversion table). I checked it against a NIST calibrated meter & it was spot on. I use this to measure light levels in offices, retail stores, etc. Many spaces are over-lit. This mater has helped me to help my clients have proper lighting while saving thousands of dollars on their power bills.
