This hammock is made from a single piece of material.

Compared to other hammocks in this price range, this one rocks! It is one piece construction -my no.1 criteria for a GOOD hammock. The material is thin and strong, feels good against the skin, is lightweight and takes up little space. The one drawback is this hammock is a little small. I prefer a hammock to be 11' long and at least 60" wide. Make it bigger and leave out the carabiners. Carabiners should be an option. They are not necessary to hang a hammock.

Hammock complain

The hammock is amazing and comfortable but when I inspected the hammock it had a rip and I don’t think that it should be like that. I love this hammock allot I’m just upset that it came in like that I just wanted to address that thank you

Really fun hammock

overall, the quality and price are what I have come to expect teton...the carabiners are top of the line and are worth the price alone, the material is thicker than other camping hammocks making this one not as "cool" but would be comfortable on a cool night...the only con is that the mounting straps are sold separately and cost almost the same as the hammock its self...beyond that, great product...

Quite comfortable hammock

This is a great hammock! I would definitely suggest it! it packs down really small but is still similar in size to a "double" size for other hammock brands. One small but very nice difference is the quality of the carabiners (i've had other hammocks whose carabiners aren't very nice and they will slowly cut at the straps if you don't pay attention while putting them on/off). This is a good product for the price. If you are debating whether or not to buy a hammock do it, the comfort level is unmatched, since i've gotten one i haven't slept in a tent since (save a few exceptions). Teton provides some quality equipment and the firefly hammock is no exception.

Best hammock I’ve tried

Best hammock I have tried yet. It has a slightly different feel from all the other hammocks in the market. It is slightly stretchy which makes it more comfortable in my opinion. Also packs up smaller than other double wide hammocks I have used. Seems super durable and easy to use. Love the Teton straps to go along with it. Nice carabiners. You can have this thing set up and be taking a nap with in minutes. I would highly suggest this hammock to anyone that is looking.

nice hammock suitable for "real" use, but no straps included for this price

There are a lot of hammocks out on Amazon these days, I'm sure you've noticed. I've been hammock camping, and backpacking, for about 5 years now. I've become a real convert to the hammock camping lifestyle because its so much lighter than the tent/sleeping pad/sleeping bag combination. And hammocks are so much faster to set up. You can use a hammock during a quick rest break on the trail, or, as a chair. Most people don't know that if you lay diagonally in a hammock you can even lie pretty flat too. The Teton hammock is a very good hammock, with some differences in construction from my other hammocks. It uses a strap loop at each end. Most hammocks (like my Eagle's Nest Outfitters hammock) use a rope that is in a loop at each end. I couldn't see much of a difference in use between the two, and its not obvious which design my be more durable. The carabiners are the best that i've seen included with a camping hammock. Many camping hammocks include just some cheap crummy carabiners, but the Teton hammock includes quality carabiners. To make this set complete, you'll need to order some hammock straps and I'd also recommend a hex shaped rain fly. Teton has their own straps, search for B07G19S7ZZ on Amazon to find them. But they don't look from the pictures to be that good, or at least, the pictures don't show very much detail. I'd also recommend a hex shaped (6 sided) rain fly or tarp to go over your hammock to provide shade or rain shelter. Overall the lack of hammock straps is the main reason I remove a star. The main reason to not include straps is because there might be several lengths of straps people might choose to buy (shorter or longer) or the toughness and durability of the straps (load bearing) or even heavy duty or ultralight straps for real backpackers. But Teton doesn't offer all these varieties. Teton only offers their one strap product. So why not include their basic all purpose straps in every purchase? You absolutely need tree straps to set this up. Ropes are not recommended as they will cut into the tree bark and hurt the tree. Teton should at least make the hammock be able to be used "out of the bag" without additional purchases.

Great product but was sent a useditem

The product is great. Lightweight for back pack camping, breathable, and a slight stretch as others have said. I knew I would have to share so ordered a second. Quality workmanship on all sewed areas and the carabiners are strong!!! My second one arrived in USED condition! With hairstrands - and clearly had been opened and stuffed back - not folded and pristine like the first not cool at all!! I’m camping this week and no time to return and there seems to be no visible compromise to the product. Not pleased with being sent a second hand product , but I am pleased with the product itself. Shady practice to send a used item at full price . Undermines overall positive impression 3 stars instead of 5
