Stays on good

This is the second fielders mask we have tried. This one stays in place great and easy to adjust. Daughter prefers this over any other one we tried on.

COMFORTABLE & SAFE! Perfect for our 8-year-old daughter playing machine-pitch softball.

Our 8-year-old daughter decided to play machine-pitch softball this Spring, and a friend suggested we purchase a fielding mask for her. This was our first experience with a child in softball, so we purchased the mask that was suggested. We were nervous that it would be uncomfortable and bother her - or that it would impede her view, but it did not! She loved it, and we felt much more comfortable with her wearing it. She can easily put it on and off herself in a hurry after batting and needing to run out onto the field quickly - both with a ponytail and without. She can adjust it how she feels most comfortable herself. Most of the players on her team wore this same one, and we suggested to the parents of girls NOT wearing one that they should get one. She wore this mask all season - and it is still in excellent / like new condition! She will wear it again next year. It really does make us feel more comfortable about her safety when she is wearing it. She is able to perform fully AND is much, much safer.

Good quality, comfortable, good value.

First off, I always buy my products for full price and never accept discounted products for reviews. My rating criteria is as follows. If the product works as is advertised and the quality is in line with the price then I give it five stars tentatively, then deduct stars for usability. I purchased this for my daughter in September 2016 (two months ago) for $23.77--looks like the price has gone up since then. At that cheaper price, it was far and away the best value on Amazon. At the current $33, I this is still a good value, but there are a lot of other choices to sift through. I think anyone would be happy if this is the one they chose. My daughter is about 5'5", so we bought the adult size--it fits fine. I give this five stars because it is high quality, comfortable and does the job, with no visible problems or bad workmanship. It fit perfectly, however (she plays catcher) it is easy to remove to catch a pop-fly. We see this providing value for a long time, but if something falls apart I'll update.

Softball

My daughter used this a full season. The previous one we had with purple foam frame were cheap and the wear and tear turn around was very quick. This one is easy to adjust when running in and out the dugout or for practice. Love it. Would by again.

This is a great mask!

I bought this in the youth size for my daughter who is 11 (5'2 105 pounds). It fits her great with room to grow. I tried it on just for fun and it fits me as well (5'5 - 150 pounds - female). I am really glad we didn't go with the adult size, it would have been way too big. She did have a chance to see it in action once, a ball bounced up and hit her mask (Would have been her face if not for this mask!) and it took the hit well. The mask did move a bit out of place (it was really easy for her to move it back into place), but I think it could be tightened a bit more, so that is why that happened (in other words, our fault). She said it is easy to see out of as well which is great and it feels comfortable to wear in the game and at practice with no itchy parts or parts that rub her face the wrong way. This is a great mask!

I choose personal safety!

I used the mask all season and now won't play without it. I'm a pitcher and have had many close calls, I choose life over death and am now comfortable with giving up a little visibility when I'm fielding in my feet. Overall, visibility is pretty good, construction and fit are both good and I never had a missed play that I could blame on poor visibility.

Impedes view more than a wire face shield

It does the job but blocks your view more than a wire face shield. I'll be replacing it. Makes catching more difficult

Great piece of safety equipment, light does not obstruct view easy to wear. Price a little higher than wire shield but a better fit
