Good quality and well made

Good quality and well made; I like the probe that folds under the body of the handle when not in use; however there are many detents that will allow you to set the probe at any angle; the screen is easy to read and is backlit with a red light; the light will stay on for a number of seconds and automatically go out but you can relight it by pressing the minus and plus buttons simultaneously. The pre-programmed meats and doneness temperatures make it easy to use; the screen shows the meat selected, the current temp of the meat, the target temp of the meat. There is an alarm that sounds when the meat has reached the target temp. However, I have found that when a steak reaches 10 degrees before the target temperature, you should stop cooking it as it will still cook after it is removed from the grill. If you don't, the meat will go past the target temperature and doneness. Nonetheless, it's a great tool; Happy Camper.

Best Meat Thermometer

Well worth the money! Had to buy this as a replacement as I accidentally got water all over our first one and the battery compartment got wet and rusty. Only wash the probe! This thing works great for all types of meat!

It's not worth the additional cost. I bought it because it displays the goal temperatures for all kinds of meats. But is only for medium doneness, not rare or others. Also it beeps for seconds when over the temp, but the temp number is frozen until it stops beeping.
