Saves you money

These are great where I work there is not a lot of places for me to have access to a power source so as long as I keep a yeti cup full of hot water and bring an extra cup I have some delicious pour over coffee at my fingertips anytime I want I’ve washed these 100 times and I use them every day. These aren’t very expensive so it’s a cheap gamble. Give this a try you’ll love them.

Perfect for cold brewers

I use this to make my own countertop cold brew. It's strains my coffee grounds quickly and easily. You could use a paper filter with it if you preferred, but I don't find the need. This works exceptionally well with my 16 ounce Ball Mason jars I make my coffee in. Clean up is a breeze too.

Easy to use

I have a cafetiere but I don't feel like using it every time I want a cup of coffee. The mesh filter seemed like the perfect solution. The mesh is really fine woven so even small grains don't come through. I just sit it on the rim of my coffee cup, add my coffee and hot water, and depending on how you enjoy your coffee, let it steep or not. Clean up is easy, I just push the mesh through the hole the opposite way and rinse. From start to finish I'm done in about 5-6 minutes

Great for Coffee!

I bought this to use backpacking. Very light and very small footprint. This will fit right in with my cook kit. I've been testing it out at home. Coffee filters quickly and taste is good. Recommended!

Works great

Took camping with girl scouts and made a great and quick cup of coffee. Much less coffee grounds ended up in cup than other methods I've used. Easy to pack and easy to clean. Very happy with this purchase

Works great with a Keurig

I had been using the official reusable Keurig k-cup to brew ground coffee in the Keurig. That process was leaving grounds in the machine, creating a problem for the tea drinkers in the household (they ended up with a tea / coffee mashup). I switched to this and it works great.

Great Cuppa

This is an excellent product for a single cup of coffee or tea. I purchased to use in my office during the afternoon when I needed a pick up but not a whole pot of coffee. It is easy to use, but cleaning in the office was harder than it would have been if I used at home or camping. Solved this by using a paper coffee filter with tea/coffee in. Then I could easily remove the grinds and rinse the filter. May seem a bit over the top, but I do not have the greatest facilities at work for cleaning the filter properly. Much better cup of coffee than using a pod type machine.

Easy, tasty coffee, any time.

It took me a few times to figure out the optimal coffee amount, but once I did, I love this little thing. I use it every day now. I use about half the quantity of coffee per cup (10 ounces or so) than I did with a paper cone. Fairly fine ground. I like strong coffee and I find that by having the coffee grounds "steep", less can be used. Don't fill the strainer part all the way with coffee. That's important. It makes one generous cup of flavorful coffee (depending of course what kind of coffee you use) at a time. So easy to clean. Nothing to throw away. Perfect for travel obviously too.

Very portable, and with effort, does the job

I have several coffee making systems that I use when travelling. This is the latest. Because it functions on its own (no paper filters, no separate coffee mug) it is compact, and a good thing to toss into the travel bag no matter where I'm going. If you like pour-over drip coffee, this produces the same quality as other methods. Unlike funnel-type equipment, this small unit can easily overflow and it can take a few minutes to carefully add hot water and make sure it passes through before adding more.

Easy and fast, great cup of coffee

This is one of the best things I've ever bought on amazon.ca. I initially bought this to quickly steep green tea for my husband instead of using a tea ball but I quickly found out (after giving away my bonmac coffee dripper to someone else who loved it) that this is great for brewing coffee grounds, too. If a traditional pour-over produces a 5/5 flavoured cup of coffee, this Buddy (at less cost, effort and waste) will give you a 4/5 cup. It will not filter out some of the sediment and oils that a dripper system with a filter does. But your coffee still tastes great and in lickety split time. Just measure in your grounds and pour water. That's it. Almost as fast a making a cup of (shudder) instant. This quick method also means that your coffee is hotter than with a traditional pour-over set up (which you have to drink almost as soon as you make or it goes cold). As a busy mom, I really appreciate how fast I can get a good cup of coffee in the morning when I need one, without any extra fuss, expense and waste. My husband and I use this on mornings when we want coffee but not a whole pot. I'm surprised at how sturdy and strong the filter fabric portion of this Buddy is. It is holding up to regular use (several times a week, sometimes daily, for over a year now) and hand washing (we air dry in our dish drainer). Another reviewer mentioned letting the wet coffee grounds dry out over another cup to make emptying the dried out grounds into the bin easy, so we often do that. This would be super for making a decent cup of coffee at the office. We also use it for green tea and don't notice any transfer of coffee flavour so, to me, it means the Buddy washes cleanly. If time is against you often or you wake up tired or don't want to spend a lot on fancy dripper systems or coffee machines, I would definitely recommend getting this. It's simple and it works. The bonus is that it is inexpensive. Before motherhood, I would have turned up my nose at using something like this (it's plastic, the horror) but life changes. Now, I wouldn't necessarily use this to brew expensive gourmet coffee: I would at least put a paper filter in first. Or buy another bonmac dripper for that :-) And a goose-neck kettle. In the meatime, this is perfect with normal, store-bought grounds or beans and for tea people, it should be fine for loose-leaf brewing.

It's a lot faster and a lot less to clean than a full-on coffee maker, and portable to boot!
