Extremely visible
This is a terrific light. I've been on many group rides with people with various rear lights, and I noticed that people running this PDW light stood out from the rest of the group as being the brightest and most noticable. That was enough to sell me on it, which was why I purchased. I'm actually on my 3rd one, the first I broke, and the second I lost. I find even in full sunlight, the random flashing pattern is very visible. With how inattentive most drivers have gotten, I run this full-time on my road bike. Knowing I'm more visible makes me feel a little safer on the road. I have mine mounted to my under saddle bag, which is not so secure. I now run a zip tie around the mounting bracket on the light and the mounting loop on the bag. Much more secure that way. Only downside is that it's not USB rechargeable. That's my preference for lighting, but definitely not a deal breaker in this application. If you want to be visible without breaking the bank, this light is a no-brainer.

Used for night jogging
I purchased this to go with a headlamp for night time jogging on the road. I know this is primarily a bike taillight but some other folks had this idea and it sounded good to me. I do also have a bike and it easily clips onto the bike mount and off for jogging. It has worked great as a bike tail light. I also considered the Planet Bike Superflash (I think it was the Turbo model was the latest greatest). I ultimately decided on the Danger Zone for one specific reason, it had a wider viewing angle. With the PBSF if you weren't directly behind it was much dimmer looking. From the video reviews the PDW DZ was much brighter at any slight off angle, and even strait back the longer pulse length of the DZ seemed to make up for the brighter LED in the PBSF. However in my actual testing, the DZ still is fairly narrow, sure you can see it from off angles but the hotspot is still fairly tight. I would doc it a little but not quite a full star so I'll just leave it at 5. For running, the narrow angle is also an issue since its hard to clip it onto something that will keep it pointing direct back and level. I tried on my vest, shorts, etc, and it would either sag downward and point towards the ground or bounce all around. I finally clipped it to the back of my headband, and that is how I wear it to this day. It has to be lined up, so a bit tedious, and you cant take it off or mess with it once its set or it might not be pointing straight back anymore. What I do is put it on in front of the big mirror in my bedroom. I adjust the headband so the DZ is pointing straight back level (I look at its hotspot on the wall behind me in the mirror. Then I set the headlamp either pointing straight ahead level or down at the floor 15 feet ahead or wherever I would want it jogging. While jogging if a car is coming I just remember to point my headlamp where I have it set - either straight ahead to the horizon or down at the ground in front of me, then the taillight should be pointing straight back level. For night running I also ware a reflective vest (Amphipod Xinglet) along with a pair of reflective ankle straps and whatever reflective stuff is already part of my clothes. My headlamp is a ZebraLight H51 series, and I use a Nite Ize headband. Overall its great, and I feel much safer running on the roads at night with this paired with my headlamp and reflective gear. The only cons I can find for my usage is I wish it were wider angle and perhaps some adjustment in the clip to aim it. I also wish it were just a single AA like my ZebraLight H51, so I could use the same batteries, but that's not a biggie I don't think there are any good bike taillights that are 1xAA. 4.5 stars.

More than just a bright tail light
I do a lot of cycling - about 5000 miles a year. A lot of that is at night because I do a lot of very long rides that take more than 12 hours to complete. I may be a little paranoid, but I really don't want to get hit by a car so my tail light is a critical piece of equipment. Whenever I see a cyclist with a really great tail light I ask them who made it and where they got it. Last November I saw my first cyclist with this tail light and I was so impressed I had to get one. Up until now my best tail light has been an eclipse which I still use as a backup. I would rather have a Dinotte but they're way too expensive for me. So what's good about this light? Well it's very bright and has two 0.5 Watt LEDs which is the same total brightness as some headlights and this is better than one 1 Watt LED because you can have more flash patterns which is very important. I have a theory that motorists pay more attention to a group of cyclists than to a single cyclist. At night, a motorist that sees complex flash patterns assumes that they are approaching a group. This light has complex flash patterns all on it's own - therefore I think it's a safer tail light. It's also easily visible at half a mile which gives motorists time to zone in and drive approriately. The light takes 2 AAA batteries (I prefer AA but you can't have everything). Even with AAA batteries the run time is an acceptable 50 hours (depending on the flash pattern you chose). The light is a bit chunky but fortunately there are a number of mounting options including seat post, seat stays, and saddle bag. You should have no problems mounting even if you ride a small frame. Turning the light on and off and selecting flash pattern is fairly easy with a pressure switch on the top of the light. I've had some feedback from cyclists behind me in the pack - they hate the flashing because it's so bright - no problem I say, just come around me and pull for a while :-) Twelve Month update: This light has developed some bizarre issues... 1. When I set it to solid mode it will flip to flashing mode a few minutes later for no apparent reason. Not cool when there is someone trying to draft you. 2. Turns on too easily. Many times I've put it away and I come back next week and the damn thing is weakly flashing. I know it was off when I stashed it. 3. Yesterday it would not turn off. Whenever I hit the switch it just toggled from fast flash to slow flash mode and back again. Had to remove the batteries, then leave it for 10 minutes, then put the batteries back in. All these issues indicate a faulty switch. I might try contacting the manufacturer.

Excellent high power light - watch out for compalints from car drivers!!
This light is stunningly bright. I wear it clipped to the back of my helmet. It clips on to the helmet adjuster perfectly. The light is blinding - so watch out for complaints from car drivers who get caught behind you and are being blinded. It really is that bright!!

Bright and lightweight
Straps to saddlebag easily. Creates quite bright and powerful beam, which makes me feel safer on the road. Not rugged, but should last if handled with care.
