Works nicely and cleans well
I have been using sonic care brushes since Philips first started selling them. The early ones lasted forever until the batteries died. The later models are built to self destruct long before the batteries die. This is my umpteenth brush as we have one for each member of the family. Do not buy them from Philips directly and do not buy the high end versions. You don’t wanna spend $200 on something designed to self destruct in a few years. I always buy the low end models. The other brushes I own are 1000 and 2000 series. They are $20 to $30 on Amazon. This one, the 4000 series had multiple speeds and an overpressure detector. They are nice to haves. I only use high speed and I think I tripped the over pressure sensor once or twice so far. I bought this one in black so I could distinguish it from the others. My wife hates the color in her light grey bathroom. My bad!!

This thing holds UP.
I just checked my order history, and I ordered this May 22 of last year, and have only had to replace the head once so far! Holy moly. I did upgrade the head attachment when I did, but come to find out- any of the click on heads are interchangeable, so you can find the right brush head that works for you! (G3 premium gum care) It’s a new school toothbrush so to say, it comes with your charging station and ends in a USB plug. If you don’t have one yet, pick one up in your order ahead of time, or at the store (any carry them these days). I don’t charge mine in the bathroom. It only needs a charge every 14-21 days, and barely a few hours. Super easy to plug in near the kitchen and let it be for a bit before bringing it back. Either way, this is a STEAL. Quality is there, and for those with sensitive teeth and gums, I’m so glad of the pressure sensor. You won’t regret it!!

Gentle, while also thoroughly cleaning!
(It's really 4.5 out of 5, since no charging block.) I've been using an Oral-B electric toothbrush for the past few years, since it didn't seem Sonicare had a similar-priced option to them for awhile. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. I needed to buy a second electric toothbrush for travel purposes, and both were in the $30-$40 price range this time...so I went with the Sonicare since it looks a bit sleeker and to try something new. The Sonicare is drastically more gentle but just as powerful at cleaning, if not better, as the comparable Oral B. Oral B's toothbrush feels more like the brush itself is kind of rotating, while the Sonicare is basically just an intense vibration, and it's definitely moving faster. It took a few days to get used to, since the vibration actually tickled my upper palate, ha. Getting my teeth perfectly clean feels so much nicer and I'm no longer wanting it to end faster. Oral B's cleaned, but it was definitely more abrasive and made me not really care for brushing my teeth. I do have some sensory issues. If this matters any, the Sonicare is also lighter, thinner, and taller than the Oral-B. I find it easier to move around my mouth, which is great for someone with a stupidly small mouth. Something that's definitely annoying is the lack of a power block. It seems like they'll send you one if you ask, but like others - why not just include that already? Or have an option that includes a power block? The box has enough room.

Great toothbrush for gingivitis!
So, I go to the dentist and they’re like, “here’s the thing, you have gingivitis and you SUCK.” Ok, they didn’t say the suck part, I added that in. But you get my point. So I needed to up my dental game. Knowing this would easier with an electric toothbrush, my dentist recommended sonicare. I’ve been using it for over a week now and it’s awesome! My mouth feels super clean every time I use it. Like I got a professional cleaning without the gum pain. It has 2 modes, one for sensitive gums which I used for several days since my teeth were still sore from the gingivitis cleaning and a mode for a more vigorous clean which I have been using for a couple of days now. The only con I can think of is it’s kinda hard to brush my tongue. So I might use a regular brush for that from now on. But I definitely recommend it!

Works great, save your old plug in charger that comes with more expensive models
I purchased this model as a replacement for my barely 2 years old Philips toothbrush that cost twice as much but was poorly made- the toothbrush attachment/spindle just randomly fell out one day. Which is a pity because my Philips toothbrush lasted 5+ years. The only reason I didn’t switch to an Oral B was due to having several replacement heads I didn’t want to throw in the trash. This toothbrush works just as well as the $100 model and the price point makes it less annoying if it randomly falls apart 18 months from now. -Another big plus is that the plug in charger from my old toothbrush works with this model.

Recommended by dentist, works great.
My dentist recommended getting this toothbrush and I definitely don't regret it. I went from a manual regular brush, to the quip brush (which was pretty awful) to this. This feels totally fine on the teeth and gums and the feature that tells you when you're pushing too hard is great. The timer keeps me in check and makes sure I get all the surfaces I need to without any added app garbage.

Haven’t used because no charging block included!
Update: I upgraded my review because I contacted the company and they sent me a charge block free of charge. Which kind of defeats their purpose of not including one in the first place. Seems like it would serve them and the environment better to just include it with the product instead of having to ship one out separately in more packaging. Or at least give the option of having one included or not with each order. But at least I have one now. I still didn’t give 5 stars because the toothbrush head is too small. I’ve seen toddler and baby toothbrushes bigger than this one. I wish the head was bigger with different length bristles to get between teeth better because this one doesn’t. And if I try to get between my teeth the pressure sensor goes off. Too many extras take away from real functionality. I’m an adult. I don’t need a sensor to tell me not to brush too hard. I’m so tired of these companies cheaping out! NO CHARGING BLOCK INCLUDED! Do they think bathrooms come with charging ports? This is unacceptable! Not at all happy with this product!

NO POWER ADAPTER INCLUDED???!!!!!
There is no power adapter intentionally included with this power toothbrush. Yes thats right you cannot charge this and therefore cannot use this product without buying a power adapter. Who the hell has a usb plug in their bathroom. Honestly what a load of crap. I’m returning this paper weight and looking for another brand. unbelievable.

Philips stopped including power adaptor?
Annoyed that Philips is copying Apple and only providing a USB powered charging stand - but NO ADAPTOR. This saves them money and they don't have to provide different adaptors for different country's plugs. They claim it's for sustainability - but most people don't have USB ports in their bathrooms. It makes sense for other electronics - but not something that is typically charged in a bathroom? They claim you can contact support if you need one - but this is a hassle, and when I did so - I can't find anywhere on their site to request one other than paying for a travel charger? So I opened a support ticket.

An almost perfect brush
I've been using this for a few weeks now. I like how thin and lightweight it is, and it seems to have an amazing battery life. If you're going on vacation for a week you could bring it with you without having to bring the charger base, too. This type of brush was recommended by my periodontist. Apparently it is much gentler on gums than the rotary type electric toothbrush. I feel that it does just as good a job of cleaning my teeth. The vibration does take some getting used to, though! Touching the hard plastic head (instead of the bristles) to your teeth is rather jarring, to say the least. It has two different power settings and the "low" speed is what I use. High is too intense. I like the 2-minute timer that beeps every 30 seconds to remind you to move to a different part of your teeth. But I do wish it wouldn't just turn off after 2 minutes - often I'm not quite finished yet! I would have preferred an AC charger instead of USB, or that they'd at least include a little wall charger adapter. That said, I did have a spare kicking around to use with this kit. I'd recommend this kit. I don't see any need to get something fancier.

Made the switch from oral b
After 10 years with oral b, I finally decided to move brands. So far , I am not disappointed. I think this tech does less damage to gum line. I think oral b made my gums recede the last few years. The battery life seems outstanding. One charge will get at least 2 weeks of use twice a day. Teeth feel super clean. Weird sensation the first few times, and the strong setting is enough to make face vibrate. Lots of fun. Good purchase and I am happy with the model. I know these techs have base models all the way through to the models that are 2x 3x 4x the price for some extra options, but this base model is perfectly fine for normal use.

Philips does not supply a wall adapter with these and makes you jump through hoops to get one.
I am sure the toothbrushes will perform well. That's why I ordered two, one to replace my aging unit. The three star rating reflects my displeasure at being short-changed by a multinational. I expect something like this to operate out of the box with what's in the box, not having to search the house for adapters. Philips' laughable pose as guardians of the environment should come with a "batteries not included" style of warning before purchase. I have had mine and won't buy any Philips product, if at all, without checking. I have two free adapters on the way, but paid for them in keyboard time.
