Made just fine; but, wastes too much time.

I got this to help support a folding dog ramp on my Ford F150 XLT. My dog was more afraid of this than just resting the ramp on the side steps of the truck. It takes too much time to add this to the ramp and to suspend by the door and it also puts the ramp at an odd angle since the rear doors do not open out 90 degrees. It was a one time wonder that maybe usable for something else in the future. My recommendation is to buy the ramp first, use it, then determine if this is something that you really need.

Did not fit my subaru out back

Make sure your door opens wide enough for the ramp to fit. I was not able to use rap adaptor as the ramp I had to order was extra wide. My baby girls is a mixed American Bulldog and the first ramp I order she kept stepping off the sides. I ordered the extra wide ramp and she was able to go up and down without falling off. If you can use a narrower ramp it will probably work for the back side doors. I didn't need the adaptor as I loaded her from the hatchback.

Does exactly what it should!

I was surprised by how… not specialized the pieces were. I’m not handy enough to DIY though so I’m glad this was available! I’ve used the strap with the folding ramp on three very different models of car, and it’s helped with all of them! Perfect touch of security for those awkward side doors. My dog still manages to slide the ramp sometimes, but that’s more about her being giant and stubborn than any of the pieces.

Works OK but should include additional piece to secure on right side.

Use this with my solvit ramp I also purchased. At first it seems like you will break the plastic part that clips to the edge of the metal ramp but once you get the hang of it then it works great. However, it only takes care of the left side where the door is. It would be nice if this clamp/strap kit came with something for the right side where the back of the seat is for those of us who have to put the ramp all the way up to the seat and not just to the floor board. My dog can't jump at all, so I must brace the ramp all the way to the back seat. I had to use a small bungie cord, wrapped around the back seat hinge and clipped to the ramp on the right side to prevent the ramp from sliding in either direction at all. With both sides secure then the ramp is very stable.

Get the harness and have piece of mind

This item is used with PetSafe Solvit Deluxe Telescoping Pet Ramp to stabilize the ramp by using the frame of your car side door as the anchoring point. While it is not completely necessary to use, as my dog has proven to me by walking up the ramp as I was attaching the harness to the ramp, it does give the ramp the stability to stay in place, ensuring that there are no accidents with the ramp slipping off the seat and allows your dog to safely enter/exit the vehicle on the ramp. If you get the ramp, pay the money to get the harness. It's well worth it.

Great solution for those with vehicle doors that don't open all the way

I wanted to write a review because there are some who had difficulty with the instructions or how this works. I had no trouble getting it assembled, and once it is adjusted to the right size you can just keep it ready to go for the next time. Mine came with three ramp adapters for the different Solvit products. The one I have just locks onto the side ramp rail, and then connects with a sturdy strap to a rubber coated hook that goes over the truck door. Worked great in my case, especially with a tall truck that doesn't have the giant crew cab. I just angle the ramp with as much on the seat as possible, and use this to support the part that hangs off. Perfect solution for people with a double cab truck like mine where the back doors don't open 90 degrees.

Uso limitado

Sirve pero la rampa no queda del todo fija y mi perro no tuvo confianza oara usarla asi. Tal vez sea por el carro que es una camioneta pequeña.

Excellent, couldn’t use our ramp without it.

The media could not be loaded. Bought this car ramp adapter along side the Streetwise folding car ramp on Amazon. It works a treat, really simple to fit on the car door & ramp and keeps it nice and sturdy for our 20kg dog. We now keep the adapter and ramp in the car boot for whenever we need it. We’ve used it on my Jeep Renegade and a Porsche 4x4 in photo. Would definitely recommend.
