Cord is only about 6 ft long.

This isn't going to work to plug into the dash outlet of a truck and sharpen your saw on the tailgate, as was the original intent before apparently the manufacturer cut corners. It worked great with a jump start pack though. The motor gets too hot to hold after doing two 24" chains, it is for occasional use.

Wish it was better

It works as intended however I wish there were a few upgrades made to it. The on-Off switch would be FAR easier to use if it were a "trigger" and had a variable speed adjustment. Other than that, it feels "cheap" in the hand but does what it should do.

Instructions are terrible. If you don’t know how to sharpen a chain well by hand, you should probably consult YouTube instead of the instructions.

doens't last long

I've owned two of these from here. I use my saw not that often. First one kept loosing the bit... Thought it was a error on my end... So rebought it... This one (not used much either) won't let me uninstall the bit (lock won't hold). For me these are just really cheap made... They do work though, when they work.

Impressively effective

I have off and on eyeballed this product and several others like it for years now. A friend of mine told me he had one and was pretty sold on it, so I thought why not for 30 some dollars it’s worth trying. I have always just hand sharpened and if the chain was too mangled I’d take it in and have it tuned up for five dollars at the shop, but this tool does just as good as the bench machine at the shop. I took the time to actually read the instructions to make sure that I had the guide set set properly which was easy to do. 10 minutes later I had a chain that was brand new quality rather than one that wasn’t worth a lick. To say the least, I was more than pleased with the results. I have always been skeptical a fancy new fangled gimmicks, but I have to say this one will spoil you in a hurry. Having to have a power source is the only downside to this tool, if it had a quality lithium battery perhaps it would be even more ideal. That being said nothing beats the reliability of a couple files when out in the back country, just had to say that all that badmouthing these fancy gimmicks wasn’t all true. With God as my witness, I have to confess that this is a handy tool and does a fine job.

Nice Tool

I gave it a 4/5 because the videos on youtube by oregon are terrible. If you have a bit of know how with sharpening a chain saw this thing will be easy to use.

Real easy to work with ! Make me save lots of times for sharpening ! Especially with 12 volts, cary everywhere in my ATV .

Pour ma scie à chaîne. Fonctionne très bien. Pas besoin d’acheter tant de chaînes, avec cette instrument, on remet tout à neuf....
