Put 'em everywhere... as long as it's in DIRECT sunlight!
Right item at the right price. Timely delivery, well-packed. I chose these for the top of brick pillars on either side of the entry gates. Drilling into brick to install the sorta flimsy plastic anchoring base was a bit tricky for the first one and was worried it might break off or take-on water since I could not get the base flush with the surface but was able to seal it with an O-ring. (Needs to be mobile to change the batteries after a year or so.) The 2nd benefited from my experience with the 1st and I drilled a slightly larger pilot hole for the screw anchor and tapped the partially screwed down screw and anchor with a light hammer till it was flush with the brick surface and then backed the screw out to put in the base and did not need an O-ring for the others. Perfectly flush and still mobile enuf to change the battery!

Aesthetically Appealing
The only reason I am not giving this product 5 stars is because of the way these lights mount to your deck or staircase. Although the lights appear to be solid, housed in a metal frame, the mounting hardware is plastic and appears to be a weak point in the installation of these lights. Sooner or later these little plastic tabs, which secure the light to my deck, will break and I'm going to have to devise a homemade solution for keeping these lights in place. The lights themselves are very nice. They emit a white light, not too bright and mark the corners of my deck very well. Since they only get about 4 hours of direct sunlight in the location where they are, they only stay lit for about 3+ hours or so at night starting at dusk. For safety and some mood lighting, they work well enough and I am quite satisfied after 2 weeks.

Mixed review..... THE BAD>>>>Only one worked when they arrived from Amazon and that was weak. Bought new batteries at Walmart @ about $5 for two. Installed ( which took time as units cover plates on bottom have multiple screws . Had to screw extra wood screws around light to mount securely to my wood pier post. THE GOOD>>> Well made stainless steel. With the new batteries they are very very bright all night. I have mounted on saltwater pier less than one mile from Cape Lookout NC. Been through hurricanes etc and work great. Some spotting on stainless steel but that is to be expected as it is "stain less" and not "stain proof" steel. ......

One works great, one died after first night
Love that one of these stays bright and useful at night on the steps down to the lawn. The second quit working soon after purchase. I’ll try to replace the solar battery to see if it comes back on, but you shouldn’t have to do that with a new purchase...

I purchased 4 sets of these llights to put out on our border boards at the end of our property. Well, it has been 2 years now and they have been through extreme heat, rain, snow, cold and most recently, a large snow plow!!!! I don't take them in, I put brackets on them to hold them down on the wood. After the recent snowplow incident I thought I would have to order 4 more sets. They knocked 3 completely off the wood and sent them sailing who knows where. The brackets were completely broken and gone as well. Approximately 3 days later, we found the 3 lights and took a chance and placed them back where they were. To our surprise, after a few days they were working just fine. I would recommend these lights to anyone!!! (still on the original batteries as well.)

Light shines more "up" instead of directly on path or walkway.
These are good, but they didn't do what I wanted them to do. I wanted something to illuminate the walkway but these lights shine more "up" due to their 45 degree angle. If the lights could be aimed more towards the ground (like car headlights), they'd be perfect! So instead they show you more where the lights are and not as much as shining on the walkway. The length of illumination at night is about 5 to 6 hours ~ after exposed to about 80% direct sunlight during the day.

These worked really well during the summer, but they are not holding up well in our nortwest winter. Not sure if the days are just too short for them to charge, or if they have gotten water logged in the rain, but we are getting no benefit from them in December. (They have not been in standing water, just on a sloping border bed in the rain.) Holding out hope that they will snap back when the days lengthen in the spring.

Good Value
Good value lights. Only one LED per side, which concerns me if one burns out. Also, the brackets are cheap so I recommend using SS screws and push down. Also, one of my units came with no bracket and the manuafactuer said they do not carry them. Unacceptable and suggested that I return them to Amazon.

Nice & Bright
I bought 12 of these to use on the dock and really like them, but be sure to test them within the 30 day Amazon return period as I got one dud. I'm not really happy with Amazon - although they are the seller, they refer you to the manufacturer if you want to exchange a defective product beyond 30 days. These have a 1 year manufacturer warranty and the manufacturer was very responsive.
