Had to modify ...

I could not find one that the angled piece was outward, in installing on a rifle display case, the angled end was against the glass. So I had to grind the rivet off, reverse the angle and reinstalled with a pop rivet. You can see my finished project in my rifle display case review (pictured). This is the rifle case priced near $100. I did not use the left one that I also purchased but will probably come in handy in some future project.

Good lid support

Worked as advertised. Used it to support gas tank access cover on custom car.

The screws are garbage

Throw away the screws that come with this item, I attempted to use two of them, both of them snapped off even with predrilling and hand screwing. Almost ruined a project I had hand crafted. I would say that if you can find one local, that you can test, I would do that instead. the mechanism is stiff, I ended up making this item work for my purposes, but i had to replace the rivet, and screws. kind of excessive for a brand new item.

not a fit for piano bench seat

Hardware did not work for my application (a lidded piano bench seat). It needed more depth in the compartment under the seat. Be sure to check needed depth for the scissor action to have enough room to operate.

Great added support

We bought this to fix an old trunk. Needed something to help support the weight of the lid. Worked perfectly and easy to install.

Decent product, good price!

This is a pretty standard piece of hardware. It's not incredibly heavy duty or extremely high quality, but it certaily does it's job well. You have to put some effort into mounting it, but once you do it correctly it works great!

Didn’t work

Extremely hard to move the hinge. I sprayed it wd40 and I still can’t open the hinge without a great deal of effort. I bought the exact same hinge for less at Lowe’s and that one works great.
