Another Quality Product

When purchasing Mod Podge or any Plaid product I usually have very high expectations as they have been around forever, and I feel like I have been using their products almost that long. This was my first attempt using the dishwasher safe version of the product and I was a bit skeptical if it would really hold up to my wash cycles. My friends and I used this to make glittered wine glasses using a few different techniques. We were able to use stickers and tape to mark designs and paint directly over with this product, then coat with glitter, and could remove those items and we were able to get clean crisp lines. Attempting to use this product with a stencil did not work well as we were not able to get the stencil tight enough to prevent it from seeping under the stencil but anything with a sticky back worked well. As far as after the product dried we did till seal with Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Sealer and so far all of the glasses have held up to both hand washing and normal dish washer cycles. I do not put them into the dishwasher regularly if I can hand wash as I am still worried the seal will begin to weaken after multiple washes but photos were taken after 1st time in dish washer.

Works great

I am not sure what all you can say about mod podge in a review. Its a great sealant. That is why it is expensive. LOL. I used it to seal the vinyl on the mugs I designed for gifts and it worked perfectly. The one thing I can say about it is make sure your work surface and the surface you dry these in is very clean. In the past I haven't done this and fibers and dust will stick to it like nobody's business. I place my product on a clean sheet of parchment, clean the product, then seal it with mod podge, then I put a cover over the top for the curing period so that it dries without air particles like dog hair and dust sticking to the mod podge.

Flaked off and streaky

Purchased to coat vinyl stickers on a water bottle. Left visible streaks on the bottle and flaked off after first run in the dishwasher. I waited the recommended time before washing to let it cure and washed it on the top rack and air dried. Maybe it only works on ceramic?

It takes time

This is something I wanted to do for my kids cups for school. They needed their names on the cups so I put stickers on them. But I did not realize until I got the bottle and read it then you are suppose to let it sit for 4 weeks after you put it on the cup. So where it works, my kids do not have the patience to wait that long looking at a cup that they want to use now.

Allow 1 Month to Dry!

Pricey but great product. Allow yourself plenty of lead time as it takes a month to completely dry after applying several coats.

I bought this size for a friend. But I have the smaller size. It's great. I cannot deal with smells, its practically Odor free. It was easy to order, it arrived in good time. It is a great product, I will buy it again.
