Von Brauni Jupiteri raketid said lõpuks Saturni kosmoselaevade aluseks. Aastatel 1960–1962 kavandas Marshalli kosmoselennukeskus mitu Saturni prototüüpi. Üksused said nimeks C-1 kuni C-5. C-1-st sai Saturn I ja C-1B-st Saturn IB. Saturn Five, mida me praegu teame, oli C-5. Moon Rocket projekteeriti Wernher von Brauni juhtimisel Marshalli kosmoselennukeskuses Huntsville'is, Alabamas, juhtivateks töövõtjateks Boeing, North American Aviation, Douglas Aircraft Company ja IBM.

Iga toode on identne lennuki esialgse kavandiga. Valmistatud käsitöömeistrite sarja poolt, kasutades ainult kõrgeima kvaliteediga materjale. Skaala: 1/200.

This model is stunning, with a nice stand, and well worth the price (note: I paid $146 shipped) for interested parties in the Apollo spacecraft. Get the photograph: "New 5x7 Photo: Wernher von Braun with Engines of Saturn V," which gives you a perspective of the huge size of the Saturn V rocket. Also, the book "Apollo The Race to the Moon," Charles Murray and Catherine Bly Cox, has an amazing picture of the Saturn V with the caption: "'Nope, there's no scale.' This may help: On the road beside the crawler is a large fire truck- almost too small to be picked up in this enlargement. The laun ch vehicle is the first Saturn V, A.S. -501, on its way from the V.A.B. to Pad 39." no page numbers. This book also has the picture of von Braun next to the business end of one of the F-1 engines mentioned above.

Excellent showpiece
This is a wooden 1/200 scale model of the Saturn V rocket as used in the Apollo moon landings. Perhaps with it being single wood piece it is not detailed as much as the dragon die cast models but still a good representation of the actual rocket. It comes in excellent packaging so that it is very hard to damage in any way during shipping and sits proudly as a showpiece with it being quite large in size. The only downside to this is the detailing. The sides are smooth wood with painting so it doesn't have the corrogations down the side on parts of the rocket that the real Saturn V did. If you are a space buff, especially if you like the apollo era missions then this is definately recommended. One of the largest scale models of the Saturn V you will find.

Saturn V Launch Vehicle Model
I had wanted a good model of the Saturn V for several years since I was Programming Systems Engineer on two Saturn V launches back in the 60's. This model was a good size for display in my artifact room. It was delivered ahead of time and was sturdily packed, arriving in good shape. It has decent detail but would have been more effective if the Launch Escape Rocket had been carved instead of painted. I examined this same model in the Saturn store at the Kennedy Space Center and it was priced considerable higher. I am very satisfied with this model and would recommend it!

... diagonally for the rocket to look proper and straight like a rocket should
Launch escape rocket portion is crooked in two axes so that I have to turn model diagonally for the rocket to look proper and straight like a rocket should. This is surprising because I would think this would have been made on a lathe, if it is truly all made of wood. With the high gloss acrylic paint, it is difficult to know. One corner of the base was stoved although was covered by paint. Model will be sitting high on shelf so no one really inspecting it will know the defects. Although I still will.

A good value on a better-quality model
A lot of folks are unsure why some models apparently should cost over $100; suffice to say that high-quality items are found in space memorabilia; i.e., these aren't made out of some polystyrene kit that is put together w/ airplane glue. I've seen more-detailed Saturn V models (that cost more), but this one is is a good value. It's interesting to compare this 1/200 scale item to a 1/200 scale model of the Space Shuttle side-by-side, because it validates that the Saturn V was seven feet shy of being twice as tall.

Excellent model to put onto display
I present regular talks about astronomy and space related subjects to a mixture of audiences and purchased this model to help to illustrate my talks about the Apollo missions. Because it is made from solid wood, it has a smooth surface finish as indicated by other reviewers and so it not as detailed as other possible choices, however, it is also considerably cheaper than the more expensived alternatives. If you are showing it to younger audiences, I would be very careful to supervise them as I think it would be quite easily damaged, particularly the top part of the rocket and the fins at the bottom. Overall though, it is quite impressive and everyone loves to see it.

beautiful
This is a beautiful mahogany replica of the Saturn V Moon Rocket. Great for display and for educating. A wonderful piece, and well finished with good detail. It captures the excitement of the Manned Space Program, and NASA's "can do" mantra, which, despite budget cuts, is alive today. Only wish it had been available in the larger 1:100 scale. Still, very, very impressive! Would recommend to any collector, educator or space travel enthusiast!

Excellent!
I purchased this for my husband for Christmas, as he really wanted one. The model came in very protective packaging with soft spongy foam to protect it in a pristine manner. Needless to say, my husband LOVED it. There are to parts which make for easy assembly and display. We are very pleased with the item that came from a company that seems to care about their product and fast customer service.
