Great to help with beginners to build confidence
I bought these training baseballs to play catch with my son. I was looking for a soft and safe baseball that would not hurt him or me if we missed a catch. These baseballs met my requirements and more. They are made of wax-coated yarn that is durable and water-resistant. They have a regulation size and weight that is similar to a real baseball. They also have a white and red color that is easy to see and track. The baseballs are great for playing catch with my son. They are easy to throw and catch, and they have a realistic feel when catching. They also do not hurt our hands or gloves when we catch them. The only downside is that the baseballs can be a bit slippery when wet. They may also lose their shape or color over time. I recommend wiping them dry after use and storing them in a cool and dry place. Overall, I’m very happy with these training baseballs and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to play catch with their kids.

Can't say enough good things about the Swax ball!
Man this thing is great! My 8 year old just started baseball and this was a HUGE help. I noticed when I first started playing catch that my son was afraid of the real baseball. He could catch it great if I threw it a little to the side. However, if I threw it right at him, he would move out of the way and try to catch the ball. I couldn't blame him, baseballs are hard and taking one in the nose is no fun! We got the Swax ball and he instantly loved it. You don't have to worry about it hitting you and due to it's texture (soft leather), it is easier to catch than a real baseball. He was no longer stepping away from the ball and had no issue getting under pop flies. He quickly built confidence catching the Swax and was on to a real ball in no time. As an added benefit, we can use the Swax inside. We still use it a few times a week when it is raining or dark out to pass in the hall.

Pricey but worth it
It's easy to find a soft mush ball to teach kids to catch. However finding a mush ball that is the right size and weight to properly enter a baseball glove is difficult. That is where this ball stands out. My young boys and I use this ball exclusively to warm up as they had a tendency to jerk their heads to the side away from the ball upon catching. This ball is helping with that. The ball is durable and can be hit by kids. But my kids prefer to hit actual baseballs or any other bounce ball to see the hits travel further. This ball at ten or eleven dollars is expensive but a durable training tool.

Great training tool
My sons catching and confidence has improved immensely using these daily this season. He likes the fact that they are the same weight as a baseball but more “padded” so when he misses it doesn’t sting as bad. It has helped him not shy away from the ball when it’s being hit:thrown to him

Great teaching tool for smaller spaces
This ball throws and feels like a real ball when hit by the bat. It just dies after it's hit so it doesn't travel far enough to break any windows. We pitch to our 9 year old in the front yard with these balls for practice and they've been amazing! My only complaint is how expensive they are compared to other baseballs. I would recommend them to anyone working on hitting with a young child anywhere, especially in smaller spaces.

Great ball for learning to catch and get over the fear of getting hit
My son was scared of baseballs after taking a few direct hits in games and practice. I bought this and showed him that it was heavy like a baseball but didn't hurt when it hit you. It was able to get him over the fear that the ball might hit him and let him focus on catching the ball. He is now able to catch the ball without flinching and taking his eye off the ball.

Love these for kids
I gave these a try last year with my own young kids. The kids immediately fet safe and comfortable using these to get a feel for catching a ball. They're great for teaching kids how to position their catching hand without having a glove on since they're easy to catch barehanded. The weight is really nice, and the cushioning prevents the ball from bouncing out of your hand. They're pricey, but an excellent training tool for kids.

Great product but too expensive
The ball is great for teaching a child how to catch. The weight feels good and the ball is easy for children to throw, even with it's softer, cushion feel. If money is no issue, buy several! If your budget is tight, consider sharing with a friend or neighbor because they are too much money. I will not buy anymore.
