Bachamnn dies it again

With the price of similar LL/Walthers Northeast caboose models increasing in price over each new production run I was intrigued seeing Bachmann's ad for a similar caboose. It looked great in photos and the price a goodly bit lower than that of the LL/Walthers NE caboose. I bought one and was beyond mildly surprised. All proportions, details and finish are exceptional, B Mann nailed the look and character so signature to the Northeast style caboose. There's fine safety tread molded on the end platforms and roofwalks, fine scale end railings, corner support posts and ladders on one separate casting. While lacking the separate free standing grab irons of the LL, all the cast on details were as fine as you could expect of this style. Those detail oriented modelers will have no problem replacing the cast on ones, I plan to do such. There's nicely detailed brake rigging underneath and flush fitting glass all around. Finishing off the car are EZ Mate couplers and a very nice chimney casting. I bought an undecorated model as Jersey Central was not offered in the initial run. The car came painted a pleasant and bright caboose read with black end railing castings and a blackend roofwalk. The caboose rides on Andrews sprung trucks and these are great models themselves. Metal wheels and axles plus ample weights give the car fantastic rolling ability. All in all one would not be dissapointed in the least with this interpretation of the classic Northeast caboose. Nice too is the price, Bachmann continues their tradition of offering high quality models at very affordable prices which will please beginners up to the serious model railroaders. I can without hesitation highly recommend this Northeast caboose model. N. A. AZ.

The details on this Caboose are fantastic I’ve got 3 of them made them Norfolk and Western and Southern.
