Scent is a bit strong but that’s a good thing

It’s smells great but it is over powering. My teen loves it because he doesn’t like wearing cologne but gets compliments on the scent. Have used this for over 3 years, and still works great!

Great Hair Product That Doesn't Leave Scalp Oily

I started using this product on my thinning hair after it had been recommended by a barber. It holds well and it does not may my scalp oily. I have tried other products before this one and they would make my scalp oily or the hair would be gelled to it.

This is a classic product for serious heir styling.

I have been using this product for several years now. I discovered it in Chicago as my stylist at State Street barbers recommended it to me. I don't like super shiny hair gel that makes you look like you are in Grease. Nor do I like the matte creams that solidify your so that you feel you are Fred Flinstone. What I like about LayRite Natural Matte is that it spreads like a cream, does not solidify but helps the hair stay in place gently, and is easy to rinse off your hands. When my wife touches my hair, she asks me whether I am using a product that day. It is a natural feeling that I want.

This gel got me a job

My friend used this before I did; I tried it once and loved it so I bought a jar. A couple weeks later, I had an interview. Right at the start, the interviewer introduced himself, then said "I just gotta know - how do you get your hair to stay like that? I need that product!" I actually didn't remember the name at the moment, but checked and emailed him right after the interview. I got the job! Highly recommend this product

Great hair product if your looking for a natural look and easy cleanup!

I first got introduced to this product from my barber and I enjoy it ever since. I have longer hair and like to put it slicked back but with a more natural look and this does the job! The packing is nice and once you open it you can smell the scent and it's not like some of the other hair product brands that smell like cheap cologne. The product is very simple, works best if your hair is not wet and best part is that you can wash it off with no concerns. Some products hold great and look great but when you shower then you feel like glue is in your hair, not with this! Again it depends on the look you are going for, the hold is good not the best but the look comes out more natural.

My only hair product

Been using this for about 8 years now. It’s a perfect product. Great hold yet looks natural. Not stiff or sticky. I have thick medium length hair and it is just perfect for it. Also have been complimented on smell. Will be using this indefinitely!

A little pricey for the volume but excellent

So, if you have mid-long hair like me, this pot might last a month - 6 weeks depending on us. So, I would say a little pricey compared to some of its competitors, however, I have tried many of the competitors and this is worth the extra. 1) It holds well, really well. I have thin blonde hair which left to its devices will turn to a bowl mop with no care. This product helps me to style (easily) and ensuring better hold by using more WITHOUT turning into a greasy or uncontrollable mess. That is the difference here...if you need more hold just use more product and your hair will not suffer. 2) Other products I have used - Dax purple (good) blue (ok) Black and white pomade (ok but weak) B&W wax (too greasy) Fudge matte hed gas (instant results but fades after hours). I can confirm this Layrite is far better than these other products (and more). 3) I use a small dose of strong hairspray to keep hold & from 7am-7pm the hold remains. It is remarkable. 4) Smell is pleasant - on the sweeter side without going too far.

Super hold for Medium to Long Thick Hair

This is a great alternative to other major players like Uppercut Matte Pomade. I have thick medium to long hair and it holds perfectly if applied in the correct manner. Step 1: make sure you have damp hair. This is a must! Step 2: comb your hair all back with a fine toothed comb to expose an even amount of hair strands Step 3: take a fingers worth it Layrite and rub it into your hands Step 4: evenly apply the cream through your hair so that there is good coverage across the entire head. Step 5: re do step 3 and 4 one or two times depending on how thick your hair is Comb into style and find your parting or just sweep back with a proper pomade comb if you want a swept back look. Let it dry... Takes about an hour to dry usually. Re-wet during the day if anything comes out if place to re style. Enjoy! This product lasts me about a month.

Recommended

I like this product but not my personal preference. I already own Layrite pomade and I switched over to this for more of a Matt look. I have grown my hair out and it is very long currently and without product it is far too poofy for my liking ???? . My hair is naturally curly but when using shampoos it ruins my hairs natural appearance and goes super fluffy. This product helps to contain my hair as expected but it leaves your hair very yucky and dirty feeling I find. So I think it’s a good product just perhaps not to my taste so I’ll stick with the pomade as when using it my hair feels more natural and not like I need to constantly wash it out.

Best product on the market, and it smells fantastic!

This is a fantastic product, and believe me I have tried almost every product on the market. I have hair roughly 3 inches long on top and like to have it swept back. Works really well on blowdried hair and provides a strong hold, but not so strong that you couldn't rework it or brush it in to position. Best of all is the smell of the product which is a soft vanilla scent, and it stays with you until you wash your hair, and this isn't one of those products that is hard to wash out. Genuinely really glad I bought this product as its the best I have ever used, and would completely recommend.

Nice product.

Needed some cream to keep my unruly hair in place as I was unable to have it cut regularly due to the corona lockdown, and I haven’t used any hair products for many a year. So having taken some advice tried this Layrite cream. Secret is not to use too much. Spread a little on your hands then massage through your hair - then comb in the normal way. Works for me and very pleased, and has a pleasant scent as well. Non greasy so no mess on the pillowcase. Some might say a bit expensive but from the little I have to use it will last me some time.
