It's ok
The app is a bit finicky and you have to connect to the pump in wifi to be able to adjust it. Once you get it setup, it works good. It's mainly the initial setup or making adjustments that I don't care for. The AI Nero 3 is a better option, depending on the size of your aquarium. I have two of the Aqamai pumps and four Nero 3 pumps. 15 gallon and below, the Aqamai would be best suited. Above 15 gallon, the Nero 3 would be a better fit. I have a Red Sar Reefer 170 G2 with three Nero 3 pumps and one Aqamai in it, an Innovative Marine Fusion Pro 20 with one Nero 3 in it and an Innovative Marine Fusion 10 with one Aqamai in it, which is plenty for that 10.

Once it's programed it's great!
It's hard to program but once you get it programed it's good.

1050gph? More like 700gph. Still a great wavemaker for the price, though.
Replaced a failing Jebao SW2 wavemaker with the Aqamai KPS in my SPS-heavy IM Nuvo 10 reef tank earlier today. My initial observations: I previously ran the Jebao on random mode at full blast (600gph). The Aqamai KPS in random mode at full blast (which is supposed to be 1050gph) appears to be under-powered for its rating as others have observed. I'd say the KPS has a real-world upper flow rate of ~700gph at most. That being said, it has a wider flow pattern and does a better job of moving water in the lower reaches and sides of the tank than the Jebao did. 8 hours of use in and I'm getting good polyp extension. The iOS app is a bit "unfinished" feeling, but overall I love the control and was able to get a 24-hour program set up that I doubt I'll want to mess with in the future so the clunkiness of the app is really a one-time inconvenience. Overall, this pump is adequate for a 10-15 gallon mixed or SPS-dominant reef tank, though it would almost certainly not be enough flow for anything bigger than that. It might be okay for a 20 gallon reef if you keep mostly soft corals.

Works well
There must have been a firmware update, because there are a number of reviews that say you have to connect to the pumps own ad-hoc wifi to use it - but that isn't true. I was able to connect both of my pumps to my main wifi, and I can program them with the app (iOS) from anywhere without changing networks. The iOS app works just fine. Both pumps show up in the app and are controlled independently. Programming is in 30 minute increments over a 24 hour period. For each 30 mins you can select the type (random, constant, wave, etc), the minimum/maximum power, and the frequency (for wave). The minimum flow rate is 5%, so you can't bring it to a complete stop, and the frequency ranges from 250ms up to 2.5s in 250ms increments. I wish there was more granularity in the frequency setting, but I am happy overall. They have been very quiet and are very small, the pump is about the size of an average chicken egg. I have two 7g tanks each with one of these pumps.

was great until 3 months in and it failed
was a great pump for my nano tank, came home one day to the controller blinking red (something stuck in propeller) confirmed that was not the case but took it out and cleaned it anyway. Put it back in tank still blinking red tried reset still not working. would love to know how to get in contact with the company or just buy a nero 3 from AI

Powerfully Silent
Overall this is a great value with two minor shortfalls from being the perfect wavemaker. I’m using this in my 32-gallon planted freshwater aquarium. It is very powerful for its size and remains silent even at the highest power setting. Currently I have it cycling between 30 and 50 percent power throughout the day which provides good water flow without overwhelming the plants and fish. So why not 5 stars…well the cable going to the wavemaker is very still and maintains a ‘memory’. This makes positioning and running the cable difficult with hard kinks overcoming the magnet. The second, and bigger issue, is the way you have to connect to the WIFI every time you want to adjust settings. Ideally this would connect to my home network and allow control without first changing my phone’s WIFI connection. Again, these are minor issue in comparison to the overall value of this wavemaker.

Good at first
Very powerful. The small size makes it discreet of those who dislike equipment disrupting the aesthetics of their tanks. The setup is cumbersome due to having connect to the wave maker's wi-fi; a system like the AI Prime would have been better (you can control it without having to switch wi-fi networks on your phone). The different wave modes are easy to see but it does become difficult to get an overall idea on a small phone screen. This stopped working about 1 year later. This worked fine for about 1 year. But suddenly it died; I clean it thoroughly but was unable to get it to work again. UPDATE: bought a 2nd one in August 2019. It is now July 12, 2020 and it has stopped working. According to manual, red blinking light means rotor is stuck. But I've cleaned it meticulous and it does not work at all.

Perfect size (and not overly powerful) for a 10 gal.
Not only does this have the “cool factor” written all over it, and the ability to program amazing parameters right from your iPhone, but I was also searching for something that would not overpower fish and corals in a narrow (tall) 10 gal. tank. I would also mention the near-“silent” operation. (I will be buying another one to randomize the flow for my corals even more and also to further eliminate dead spots in the tank behind rocks). Watch an online video as to the programming, however, because although it is visual and fairly intuitive, it takes some getting used to at first; without a video you might feel caught in a programming loop. Of course, once you set the timed intervals the way you like them you won’t have to fool with settings again. There is a handy physical button on the unit to press which will turn off the flow for 10 minutes to allow you to feed— and the settings will resume. This way you don’t have to pull out your phone. I have only had the system up and running for about 2 or 3 weeks, so I cannot comment on overall durability/longevity, but if this thing lasts it will be well worth the money.

Not as strong as I expected
It’s very neat and I really like the app and everything that you can program it to do, but my tank is 32 gallons and the is not sufficient for my tank, I would need 4 or 5 of them. This is good for smaller tanks

Love this pump
While it was a bit expensive -but it works really well. Love the programmability. now 2 years on works as well as when I bought it. Th only thing is at times my apple devices lock onto its WIFI and not my 5Ghz

Pretty good.
It's small. Pretty powerful and very user friendly. Not a silent as i thought it would be. But not too loud either.
