Great idea, poorly executed

The clip is very convenient and I love the idea. But mine broke, twice. The first time I thought it was because I overtightened the screw (maybe I did). So I was very careful to not overtighten it on the second unit I received. I left the plastic ring loose enough that it could easily spin on the screw. I used blue Loctite to ensure the screw would not back out. After a couple weeks of use, the screw broke out of the plastic ring. I wanted to love this item. The functionality is great, and it fit my needs well. But the plastic used for the retention ring is just too brittle. An item meant to be used in the field should be more robust.

Quick to grab

Love this clip! The lanyard that came with the remote is annoying! This keeps my dogs remote close by at all times. No setting it down across the room to forget where it is. Training is about being consistent and timely, this clip expedites the process. I don’t miss a training opportunity when I have the remote on my side. I would recommend this to anyone using the remote!

Perfect for clipping to cross body bag.

I use this to be able to have quick access to buttons while still maintaining use of both hands when not in use. Secure and easy to release when you want it released. Used lanyard before but didn’t like having to constantly hold or have around neck. Keeps remote out of way and makes it so I don’t accidentally trigger.

Great quality belt clip

I purchased the belt clip and the retractable lanyard for the mini educator. I wasn’t sure which one I wanted to use, but I ended up using both. The belt clip is perfect for clipping on to a pocket and keeping the remote in the same position for easy and quick usage. I didn’t like the belt clip actually being on my belt because I found it to be somewhat uncomfortable. It’s nice quality and feels secure on my pocket.

So much easier than having to hold it.

I can see where some of the reviews say that part that slides into the holder might break off but it would take a good amount of force to do it. It is a small piece and maybe if the leash got caught on it or somehow hit it with your hand, it could pop off. My holder looks pretty thick and having used it twice a day for over a month I don't see any signs of wear.

As advertised and expected

I've used this for a couple of months with a mini transmitter. It stays on my belt and hold the transmitter securely yet allows for easy release of the transmitter when needed. Good quality material.

Good gift

I bought this as a gift for my brother and his dogs for easier access to his e trainer remote. He likes it and said he doesn't have to unbuckle it when he uses it and hasn't complained about anything with it yet he seems appreciative. In other reviews I read a helpful review someone used their lanyard on it and attached that to their belt as backup incase you lean over and maybe hit release.

Awesome when it works, but it doesn't work for long...

It's a great idea and very useful when it works, but it's only as good as its weakest link which is the cheap, very brittle plastic part that screws onto the educator.... I bought this clip maybe 6 months ago and have had to replace this part 3 times, first one broke on the first week, the next one broke not even two weeks after getting it; then they made me buy another clip as you need this part to make it work; now this one's broke..... What a rip!

The attachment round pivot piece broke immediately.

Well I was quite disappointed when the pivot piece that attaches to the "Educator" broke immediately upon installation. The belt clip itself seems ok but if you are wearing this thing in the field, the thin plastic attachment will break with out any real pressure or abuse. Just really thin. It results in your main transmitter device laying on the ground somewhere. Should have been made from metal, which is what I did. I don't like giving bad reviews but this pivot piece is just too cheaply made to hold your $200 dollar transmitter securely. Update.....Well the clip now works fine but the actual splined brass bushing in the Educator pulled out of the plastic housing. I use the Educator a lot and I'm going to switch to a leather holster. Luckily it just dropped on the grass where I could see it.

Brittle plastic

Love the idea in concept. Had to register a return within minutes of installing it. The plastic “post” that screws into the transmitter literally crumbled apart after being engaged/disengage in the belt clip a couple of times. Kudos to Educator for the great customer service.

Nice idea, but not durable

I really liked the option of attaching the remote to my belt, unfortunately the plastic piece that is attached to the remote is not durable enough, after my second one broke I'm not buying it again. May be the cold weather makes the plastic brittle? Perhaps I'm going to build replacement part out of aluminum so it will be durable.
