hard to read if you are under the sun

the only issue i have with this is that it is tooooo shiny. with the sun overhead all you can see is the reflection of the sunlight which im sure we all know is completely blinding. that and the indentations (ks that the right word?) (maybe markings) are not colored in to help make them more visible. my dad has a old black one with yellow paint in the "markings" which is totally easy to use/see

Shows 12ths of an inch but not 16ths.

I wish this thing showed 1/16 increments. It's definitely not wrong given the intended industry. Just be aware.

Sturdy Carpenter Square!

This was exactly what I was looking for. I expected it to be a little flimsy, but it's very sturdy! I'm very pleased!

Nice little square

For the price this is a nice little square. I was unsure what the hole was for so I asked and mostly got answers that said it was for hanging or storage. Not sure if that is correct because one can just hang it by the inside corner as well. The hole is normally placed in a position so when hung on a nail the square should hang plumb or level so it can be used to plumb studs or other things. This hole is not placed properly so it can not be used as a plumb bob.

Decent quality square

Sometimes you just need a smaller square than your clunky 16 x 24. This square is handy, decent quality and quite a bit thicker and sturdier than I had expected. Measurements are well etched. Should last me forever. Good purchase.

Excellent quality, but numbers are a little hard to read under normal conditions. I wish somebody made a yellow version of this with black lettering.
