Perfect addition to my new Hydro Flask!
This sports top is perfect! I ordered the 18oz standard mouth bottle with the standard flex top (the regular screw on lid) and would not have ordered it if I could not have ordered the sports top. I cannot drink out of a straw for health reasons and besides the fact that unscrewing a top every time you want to drink is a pain, I also have an autoimmune disease that causes weakness, so it wouldn't have been practical for me so I am more than satisfied with this sports top!

Whistles
Works as is should but has an annoying whistle thru the air hole whenever I take a drink. (Especially bothersome if I'm thirsty in the middle of the night.)

Sturdy lid
This is a good lid and I haven’t had any issues with leakage. It looks sleek with the bottle and you can’t see that red ring that’s in the product images which I liked. I only took one star away because it’s expensive. For $15 you can buy a whole new bottle at some places, but for a leakproof quality lid, i’m okay with it!

This was worth every penny!
I wanted to replace my leaky sports lid for my narrow mouth Hydroflask when I found this lid. It is absolutely worth every penny. First of all, it doesn't leak where my sports lid did all the time. It isn't noisy so it is less awkward to drink water in a meeting (the sports lid sounded like a balloon letting out air). I drink so much more water now because I am not a distraction anymore. I plan on buying a backup or two at some point, just in case because I absolutely love this lid. If I had a complaint, it is that this lid only comes in black which could cause challenges knowing which lid is mine if I take it off to clean. (I etched my initials into the lid to help with that so it wasn't worth removing a star just for the lack of color options.)

They work, but not well.
They work and it's better than the default, screw on top, but... They require setup like cutting the straw down to size and they just don't work that well. Annoying. When you open these lids to take a sip, they have a tendency to, "burp" the contents of your bottle. So if you have something like sports drink, that contains glucose, be prepared to have to wipe down stuff, as this tends to get everywhere. Three piece design is terrible. The red silicone core, acts as the seal for the straw as well as to create suction. It's an annoying design which is tough to clean without special, this bottle brushes. Also, it seems this will get loose over time and no longer keep the lid water tight. I have to fiddle with this lid, often to get the straw in the right spot, as well as the flip up sip spout, so that it will allow me to draw up some water. At times it's like using a straw that has a hole in it. Annoying. Too expensive for what it is, and does not work well.

Just what I needed
Found this steel version after I dropped my Hydro Flask and broke the plastic cap. Could be a bit cheaper, but if it lasts I'll be happy.

Call it the dribbler!
Product is great in theory, but after a month of use it no longer retains a seal. If your hydro-flask is anything but perfectly upright it is going to leak everywhere. Slow dribbling leaks in your backpack = not ideal!
