Instructions to Install This Part

After much time spent looking for instructions to install this part, I was not able to find any help. I was able to figure out installation and I am sharing it. First things first: Just about every blender coupling out there seems to have a counterclockwise thread. Every YouTube video or any other instructions for similar blenders will tell you hit the coupling with a screwdriver and hammer clockwise (as if you are trying to tighten it). That is the correct procedure for most blenders. THIS COUPLING HAS A CLOCKWISE THREAD! Using a flat head screwdriver and a hammer, gently tap the teeth of the old coupling to make it move counterclockwise. Another way to describe this procedure is to tap it on the back of the coupling teeth (the slanted part, not the flat part) After a few taps it will come off. Clean the shaft threads and install the new coupling. Not need to tighten hard as the motor will that it for you first time you use the blender. I gave the item four stars because the Waring web site provides no instructions to replace a part that commonly wears out.

Easy instructions to replace this part

After many attempts and research on the web on how to replace this part, using all kinds of screwdrivers, hammers, clockwise taps, counterclockwise taps, etc etc.... the solution was actually so easy and intuitive! Just look at the bottom of your waring pro megamix, find the screw in the middle. If you rotate the coupling, this screw will rotate as well. Therefore, just use a flat screwdriver to keep this screw in place, as you unscrew the coupling with your hand. So easy! no hummers, no hassles. As you are still holding the bottom screw in place with a screwdriver, screw on your new coupling. That's it! Shout out to my husband for finding this easy and great solution!

Works/fits as advertiser

Purchased this for my Waring Margarita Madness blender when the impeller's threads stripped. Fits as advertised. Can't say how long it will last. The original lasted over 10 years.

Works fine but too bad the Waring blender engineering is sixty years old. The carafe easily breaks and the repair parts cost as much as a new carafe.
