Great bulb for whole home

This light bulb was easy to use and the app worked well. The reaction time is a tad slow but that light color is of good quality. I would recommend these bulbs.

Dated, Already

Took two different apps and refusing to pay for using one of the apps for me to get to communicate with the bulb since the QR code was outdated and nonfunctional already. Bulb itself is good and what I was looking for (app controlled, gazillion colors, etc).

The app is poorly designed

It is difficult to program a schedule into the app and if you loose power, when it is restored, all the lights turn on. This can be a bit of a power waste if you are not home during the outage.

Bulbs are great when they work. They disconnect and I have to reconnect each one individually.

Cync lights are the worst you can buy

Take this advice from someone who has many years of experience with home automation and lighting... Don't buy Cync lights. Ever hear the phrase, "You get what you pay for"? That's something you should keep in mind here. These lights are significantly cheaper than the popular Philips Hue offerings. However, what you get when trying to save money is nothing but frustration. Getting these bulbs to connect to your network can be touch-and-go. Sometimes they connect without incident and sometimes they don't. In an attempt to connect certain Cync bulbs, I have had to create a GUEST network at 2.4GHZ since they refuse to connect to 5GHZ, which most routers output. While there were no issues getting these bulbs to connect to Amazon and Google voice assistants, the problems began when dealing with multiple bulbs in a single room. If you have more than one bulb/lamp in a location that you need to control with a single command, the bulbs often won't sync. For example, I have two bulbs in my garage. When I tell Alexa to "turn on garage lights" the results are that quite often, only one of the two bulbs will come on. I have three flood bulbs in my bedroom and I can never get them to go on or off all at once. My recommendation is to spend the money and buy HUE lights. I know they are extremely expensive, but there is so much satisfaction when you can effortlessly install them across all your devices (Google, Alexa, HomeKit) and they work without incident even when pairing with other lights in the same room. Cync is a horrible brand. I'll never buy these bulbs again.

Ordered a second bulb and was defective

I have one of these bulbs from the last generation and it has worked fine, it's bright and fun with color.... But I wanted another one to balance out the room. So I ordered this one. And it arrived malfunctioning. It refuses to pair or be found by any app, Google home or the Cync one. So.... Gave up after an hour of trying to reset the bulb to get it to pair. Seriously bummed... Was thinking of converting home lights to these... But now probably gonna not because of the quality control.

Not worth the money

So, I got these expensive bulbs, downloaded the app, installed the bulbs, set them up and here is what happened. I selected Red, the bulb turned Yellow. I selected Blue, the bulb turned Green. I selected Green, the bulb turned OFF. I select Green again, the bulb turned Purple. Wife looks at me and sees that I’m turning RED with frustration and says…….delete the app and send them back. Exactly what I did……took them back to Kohls and sent them back, then went to the lumber yard and purchased several single colored bulbs. They are hassle free, just need to swap them out each holiday for the desired color but heck……life is easy again.
