I got a deal on four

I had come to get one of these for storing dogfood, and the 35 lb. container was on sale plus there was a $30 off deal for buying $100 worth. So I got four, two for the dog food and two to make a chicken feeder and waterer that I can easily get into but also seal off so gunk doesn't get into it. With the sale price, the two cost less than I paid for a much smaller and more aggravating, sorry chicken feeder/waterer set. I was able to remove the water drippers from that and install them into one of these dog food containers. I've ordered a better set of feeding ports with hole saw to be able to install those into the other. Now I just have to get some concrete blocks to sit them up on in the chicken run. The "Raccoon Proof" video sold me on these.

5 stars BUT

OK I’m giving this five stars because it keeps the ants out of my dogs food. We keep this in the garage however at 100% does not fit the amount of food that it says it does I bought this one and spent the amount of money I did on this one because of how much it said it held And it does not hold that. I don’t know if I didn’t read it correctly and maybe it says somewhere that it Hass to be very small kibble, but we have large dogs. Their kibble is medium size and I cannot fit the amount that it says on here.

Great product, great customer service!!

It works well, I haven't had it for long but it's doing better at keeping it fresh than a food storage container I had bought at the pet store. I bought this since my cat was transitioning to adult food and unlike his kitten kibble(4.5lbs) the adult food I could buy for 11lbs. So the previous storage container was too small. But after using this one, I realized the one I bought at the pet store was garbage at keeping the food fresh, so I'm glad I bought this. Only thing, it didn't come with a scoop. I emailed the company about it, asking if it was supposed to or not and they replied instantly that they don't come with scoops anymore. However, since there was mention of coming with a scoop in the description, they offered to send one out to me free anyway. Great company, great customer service. Love it! Obviously the older stock will probably have a scoop still with it but the newer ones won't.

Keeps food in, chipmonks out

We feed birds all year long, and buy food grade, hull-less sunflower seeds in 50 lb bags. Get them from a feed store on special order. This holds a little more than half a bag. We keep the rest in a tub with a top. This replaces a small tub. We have chipmonks, and the little devils are very clever and broke into the old bin. Put a rock over the opening, and they pushed it off! So this is the solution for us. Now the birds get the food instead of the chipmonks.

Sturdy, Airtight, and Easy to Open!

The Gamma2 Vittles Vault pet food storage container has been a welcome addition to our home. The last container we had was the "rubbermaid container"-type plastic with a lid that was constantly falling off. The Gamma2 container is much more solid, airtight, and easy to open and close...just give the lid a spin! Quality is impeccable. I plan to buy a smaller Gamma2 Vittles Vault for birdseed in the near future. I'm very happy with this purchase!!!

Quality product/ 34lbs Dog Food fits.

The container is built well, study and fairly thick plastic. The lid fits snug with a rubbery seal. Very happy with container. Note, I almost bought a larger unit based on other reviews. The standard bag of Dog food I buy is 34lbs. The entire bag fit perfectly and I would say there was room for one more pound which would be 35lbs. I assume that lesser quality food may be less dense so maybe that’s why the full 35 lbs may not fit for some others. I feed our dogs quality dog food with the #1 ingredient lamb not a bunch of filler or by products so the weight may be greater. Glad I bought the 35lb size. See pic, entire bag fit.

It does the job!

For years I would just open the bag of dog food and scoop out the food as needed, but not sealing it up air tight. I started to notice my pup ate much better when I opened a fresh bag of food, so it finally occurred to me she liked her food fresh. This container is perfect and easy enough to use, plus it slides right under my sink!

I bought this product to use for my dogs dry food. It easily holds a 12kg bag of dry dog food. I also have one that I use for wild bird food.

Not really air tight

The media could not be loaded. First time posting a video in an amazon review! I want to start by saying, I quite like the container. It appears to be very durable yet light weight, and it *seems* like it does its job just fine. We got their larger container (from PetSmart) for our dog food, and found it so convenient, we opted to grab the smaller one for our cat. The large bin came with an instruction to wash it before using it, which we didn't notice until after it was filled. I didn't see the same recommendation with this container, but I thought I'd give it a quick rinse anyway. This is when I thought "hey while it's got water in it, why not test the whole 'air tight' feature?" See video for results... I'm not sure how I feel about it now. It clearly has an imperfect seal, and water > air, so if it's not water tight it is definitely not air tight. However, I'm not really sure that this matters all that much. If you're stocking a bunker, and planning to rely on stored pet food years from now, then sure it's probably not the right container (but in that case maybe don't open the food...). For storing pet food that you are regularly accessing, using, and replacing, it's most likely adequate. The gasket looks to be completely intact, no visible rips or bumps, but perhaps I have a defective unit. I will wash and test the large bin when it's empty and see if it has the same issue. I imagine the problem is due to the low thread count. The minimal threads make it super convenient for opening and closing, as you don't need to turn the lid a dozen times. But I feel like this is what leads to the less than perfect seal. I've found you can tighten it enough to greatly reduce, if not completely stop the dripping. But to do this you have to pick up the container for leverage, which sort of defeats the purpose of a convenient storage option. And if I do this, my girlfriend can't get it open... So not a practical solution for us. At any rate, I don't think it's reason enough to return it. But I do think it's something to consider, and a little dishonest given multiple claims about being air tight.

High quality dog food storage

At first, I was hesitant to spend almost $60 on dog food storage. I admit, I initially bought this to clean up the aesthetics of my kitchen and get rid of my ugly, clear Rubbermaid container. It looks great, clean and minimalist in my kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised at how airtight the container is and how easy it is to unscrew. Coincidentally, the cup that comes with it also happened to be exactly what I fed my dog per feeding (1.5 dry cups). Great purchase! Would highly recommend.

Great but doesn’t hold 35lb

This container is just what I was looking for but it doesn’t hold 35lb. We have it filled with puppy food and the bag was 34lb but about a 1/4 of the bag wouldn’t fit. Disappointed since I purchased this size to fit the specific bag of dog food we buy. Didn’t want the next size up because I thought it would be to big.
