Best Iron I've Had In Years!
About a decade ago the iron I had had for about a decade finally died. I then went on a horrible journey of buying one iron after another that died within a year or so, sometimes within months. And I am talking about top-of-the-line name brands. They leaked, scorched and the sole plates would be a mess in no time. But this ConAir is really a champ. After nearly eight months (a record!) the sole plate is pristine and it irons very well. The only issues is that is occasionally leaks a bit, although that is not a deal breaker. Overall, I highly recommend this iron, which is a big cut above some more expensive brands and models.

Some good, some bad.
It puts out nice steam. My biggest issue is that it's impossible to read the fabric heat settings as you turn the dial. Too dark and not backlit. The dial seems to have to turn a full 3/4 to reach the active settings, which is odd. I find I have to place the iron flat sometimes before the heat kicks on. The auto-shutoff is not reliable. The green "ready" light remains on as long as the iron is plugged in. That's not a problem, but different than other irons.

Whyyyyy did they make it this way?
The iron works fine, but the color! It is impossible to see through the shaded side panel whether you are past the "max" water line or, indeed, whether you have water in it at all. I'm judging by sloshes. If it sloshes, I iron.

Written and picture directions not clear
The iron works fine BUT when I first used it, the written directions were not clear. They did not mention what the red and green light meant. I assumed from my waffle iron that red mean "on" and green means "ready to use". It would be useful to make the raised arrow at the top of the dial indicating on or off, black like the self clean button instead of clear plastic. The start arrow is not listed on the picture of the iron.

Iron never gets hot enough
Recommend not purchasing this iron. The iron is safe to use. Because the iron never gets hot enough whether on steam setting or not, clothes do not look pressed. Also, because the iron does not get hot enough, it leaks water onto clothes while ironing on the steam setting. Unfortunately, I had not tried the iron until after the return period so I am stuck with it.

Great sturdy iron
I was devastated when the iron I've been using for the last 11 years finally stopped working. I did a lot of online research for a replacement and discovered to my dismay that standards had slipped with a lot of the brands that were trusted in the past. I have a couple of other Conair items, and they've worked well for me, so I thought I'd try the Conair iron. I am loving it! It produces a lot of steam, it doesn't spit or leak. It's heavy, but I like that, as it means I don't have to press as hard. I like the titanium plate, as it doesn't pit or degrade as other surfaces do. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Excellent iron
Worth every penny spent. I'm a 52 year old guy & I'm not an expert on irons but I can say that this is by far the best I have ever used.
