Typical Bosch, which I like. Nothing but an aircraft drill was going to reach into the space I had available.

Worth what I paid for it.

Great drill bit. I use it to bore some 9” deep holes in two slabs of very hard Bocote to imbed some brass rods. No wobble to the bit and it didn’t have any tear out. The black oxide coating holds up very well (as is characteristic of Bosch). The only negative is the fluting of the bit. For a deep drill bit they don’t come far enough up to remove the spoil well. Even when backing out they’re still to shallow as it requires a near complete exit of whatever hole your drilling.

This Bit Went Right Through a Brick Wall

I needed to drill through a brick wall that had a fairly thick stainless steel panel on both the brick side and the drywall side of the garage wall I was drilling through. I bought another drill bit to do this at our local Home Depot and it did little but get hot when drilling on the metal. I got the Bosch a few days later and it was through the wall in about 5 minutes. It didn't get hot and did not appear to wear as the other bit had done.

Shank is round not made with 3 sides advertized.

I bought this because of the 3 flat attachment between shank and drill bit. This caused the bit to slip/spin in the chuck. I was able to drill my three 6 inch wood holes after tightening the chuck several times during the process.

Not what I would consider a Bosch quality product

I purchased the drill to do some work in wood and aluminum. Fine in wood but drilling two holes in generic aluminum that was 3/8" thick dulled the cutting tip and rendered the drill almost useless. I would look for something other than "black oxide" if you were looking for something to last more than drilling a couple of holes.

Does the job

The bit is exactly as described. Haven't used it too much so cannot comment on long-term durability. Great for poking low voltage cables through walls and framing.

A bit better: a better bit.

Sharp, true, and durable. The flutes are short, which is a double-edged sword: it's a curse because it means you have to back out frequently when drilling deep, but a blessing because the bit is stiffer and less likely to break.
