American Standard soap dispenser

This was easy to install and looks great with my faucet. Works beautifully.

Quality build, Poor Pump Implementation

The soap dispenser has a very nice finish and the overall build is solid EXCEPT for the soap pump assembly. The pump assembly sits into the neck of the dispenser and free spins. It is so loose that the top housing moves back and forth like a little bell. The Kohler soap dispenser that finally went bad was a tight fit. In contrast, if you slightly bump the spout of the American Standard it will swing around to the back. The American Standard retails for $121 and bought it on Amazon for $78 (tax included). When I called support from the reseller he stated this was a builder's grade model and not to expect much. I do not consider this a builder's grade product as it is brass and stainless and the only plastic is the bottle and pump. I called the American Standard support line and was informed that this is the way it was designed. I guess it is time to get a new design team. I bought American Standard because they replaced the kitchen sink faucet under their lifetime warranty program. The soap dispenser has a one year warranty so I suspect I will be changing it out for a different manufacturer in a year. I would send it back but at 65 I am tired of wiggling my way under the sink to change it out, my back can only take so much twisting now a days.
