Most comfortable, easily adjustable night splint you'll ever have!
This is such a COMFORTABLE ankle brace/night splint! I've tried two and they were uncomfortable, flimsy, and never worked well. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome - The Hypermobility Type, so I need something that's easily adjustable especially since my fingers dislocate. You can adjust it so easily. Other joint braces stabbed into my ankle because my ankle hyperextends at night, but this one does not. There is a joint in this brace/splint so it doesn't stab your ankle. For the other review about it being too unstable so the foot isn't pulled far enough, I don't see that. The cord has enough pressure to gradually pull your ankle so even if it's in a comfortable place, it's still stretching your ankle. I suppose maybe it's because the other person needs it to keep their ankle at a 90 degree angle? I toe walk because my ankles are so stiff, so I'm using this to eventually get my ankle so I can move it to a 90 degree angle rather than around 50-70 or so degrees at the max; I haven't had it measured in years though. If you need a night splint that will keep your ankle from hyper-extending, is comfortable, easy to adjust, and slowly stretches your ankles while you sleep, this is a really good ankle splint! This is the third one I've attempted so far, and works so much better. Sadly insurance would cover the more flimsy, uncomfortable, and useless splints; fortunately, two ankle splints for on here were about $100 each ($200 total). Not a bad price for great quality!

Great idea, but doesn't work well
The D2 has a nice feature in the ability to adjust the tension on the front of the foot to increase the force as your tendons start to stretch out. In practice, however, the splint does not work well. The primary drawback is the method for holding the foot in place. A strap holds the foot at or just rearward of the ball. This strap, being neoprene, is flexible. This flexibility allows the foot to sag away from the brace, significantly reducing the effectiveness, unless the strap is cinched down extremely tight. When tightened down to this extent, the bloodflow to the front of the foot is constricted, causing pain in the middle of the night. If the product were to have a more stable, less constrictive method for supporting the bottom of the foot while keeping it close to the brace, then it would be a product worthy of recommendation.
