Great for Montessori Activity

I saw something like this at my kids' school and wanted to try it at home. The teachers said the kids practice using their pincer grasp (first two fingers and thumb) by inserting golf tees into the holes on the shaker. I bought this and some long (3.25") golf tees and sat with my kids while they immediately went to "work." They love it! It's one they're only allowed to work with under supervision, but it's a great, rather inexpensive way for them to continue some of their lessons at home. The shaker lid is easy to remove, the cup is easy to clean, and it seems pretty durable so far. I think it would work well for it's intended purpose with food, but I'm happy with the way we're using it for now.

Beautifully designed.....

I bought this shaker to use for finely chopped baking chocolate. After trying various grinders and food processors I typically chop up 1 whole bar of Baker's unsweetened chocolate with a chef's knife as fine as I can. I add that to yogurt and ice cream. The large holes in this shaker made it a logical choice. It has worked well so far. With large holes there can be a slight problem with the direction of shaken ingredients, especially with the larger fragments. In some cases I will cup my free hand around the rim to provide additional guidance.

I use it with flour... for making pies and pastry.

I saw a woman use this kind of shaker on a Julia Child video, and I immediately went on Amazon to get one for myself. It is terrific. I use it to flour the surface area when I roll out pies and pastry. It's always perfect for that use, and it keeps me from over-flowering the area. Plus, it's fun to use.

Well built and easy to clean…

Use as a sesame seed shaker for sushi works like a champ. Quality product and design very happy with the purchase:)

Dispenes evenly.

Not only does it dispense evenly, it's also comfortable to hold. The only thing inaccurate was the color, (pictured with orange lid) which I can live with.

Nice sturdy shaker

I use it to hold baking soda and then sprinkle it out for cleaning. Works great. Lid is nice and tight. Holes are a little big but work ok.

Expensive!

Quality wise it is ok, but the price is way to expensive! I was just in need to buy it now.
