GOOD BUT COULD BE BETTER

The product itself is very good and deserves a 5 star rating. The included testing instrument is a valuable bonus for it is easy to use and provides a quick check on the correctness of the installation. However, the instructions leave much to be desired and only a very careful reading of the limited guide reveals that the grounding cable should be a 20K type wire that is NOT included. One can find such a wire on Amazon but the cost of your fence will increase by at least $15.00 for 15 feet of wire. One should also be aware of the type of ground best suited to carry a voltage shock from the wire, through the animal, and into the ground. I had to remove an area covered with wood chips to expose the soil needed to get a good test reading from wire to ground I recommend ordering the 20K wire, a waterproof enclosure (also found on Amazon) at the same time one orders the kit. Before one begins an install, visit the manufactor's website and view the information on it for it is better than the installation guide that comes with the kit. Several Utube presentations are also worth watching. Overall I do recommend the kit for it is a value buy when one adds the cost of all the individual parts.

Dog repellent

Works perfectly for keeping dogs out of my front yard. Didn’t have it up 10 minutes and they got into it and took off. Also it was very easy to install.

The plastic stakes are a bit weak, wire is soft and very flexible.

So far, it's good for keeping the dogs out of my bushes. I haven't seen them get shocked, so maybe it's just the physical barrier. The stakes are a bit weak, when you put any tension on the wire, they bend and twist. The wire is very soft and flexible making it easy to install, but it's a bit too soft and has to be adjusted alot. So far, it's doing the job and wasn't horribly expensive. Don't expect to fence in a large area with this, stretching the wire over a large distance between stakes would probably result in the wire hanging down all over.

Functionality

My order arrived when they said it would. There were a couple things that disappointed me. It did not come a grounding wire or any wire to connect the energizer to the fence. I purchased a 25’ roll of romex which gave the ability to connect those thing in one wire. The posts are made of hard plastic and can easily break (one clip break). The grounding clamp broke (cheaper China stuff).

You will still need to buy other items to finish the install

I bought this because it was supposed to have everything needed to install a fence. This is not worth the money. The box includes the posts, a charger, 17 gauge aluminum electric fence wire, a ground rod and a ground wire clamp. However, you will need other items to connect the fence and grounding rod to the engerizer The instructions are poorly written and so generalized for any type of electric fence you may be installing as to be almost useless. The instructions state "Your fence energizer will have one of two types of terminals - strip wire and connect as shown below." The picture shows '20KV hook up wire' but that insulated wire is not included. The instructions also state that to connect to the energizer to the fence, a galvanized line clamp or a poly tape connector clamp is to be used. Neither mechanism is in the box. Luckily I have installed an electric fence in a different location and we were able to figure this out, but I do not recommend buying this fence.

Finally, I have plenty of tomatoes

I tried for years to defend my garden against squirrels using all types of methods including repellent sprays. I still had to overplant just to get some tomatoes with few that made it to full size. This product works so well that we have more big ripe tomatoes than we can eat. The plastic stakes provided in the kit worked just fine for me. The kit does not come with the special high voltage hook up wire that runs between the power supply to ground and to the fence. You will need to order that separately. I ran 5 rows of fence wire about an inch apart around a relatively small patch about 10' by 10'. You will probably need to order more fence wire to protect larger areas. If the power supply is kept outside, you will need to protect it from the weather. I put mine in an inexpensive weather proof box I got via amazon and plugged the unit into a house external outlet. To access the garden, I unplug the unit. The unit pulses about once each second, which ensures an animal that touches the wire will be able to pull away from the fence without harm. The kit comes with a checker so you know it is working. I strongly recommend this product as a an affordable effective solution to garden pests.

Very User Friendly

I bought it to keep our Border Collie and Pit Bull out of our back yard veggie garden. It was VERY easy and fairly quick to install (30-45min or so at the most). And that was taking my time about it. It is plug and go right out of the box. Everything you need is there. Zareba has some VERY easy to follow install tutorial videos online as well. I had it on for about 48hrs and that is all it took for our dogs to learn the garden is a no go zone. Everything is still in place if I need to charge it again to remind the dogs that it is there but they have been respecting it and staying out of the garden for the last three weeks now. Great product and worked just like I expected it to. I would totally purchase it again.

Positive results after a summer

First, this fence system effectively protected my small vegetable garden from the many squirrels, rabbits, skunks, racoons, etc. But the raccoons did get some of my tomatoes. I have been trying to grow vegs for many years but could not because of the many pests living around my house; but this year I could at last enjoy a good harvest. But this fence is not perfect. The main problem is the posts; they are too small and they cannot sustain a lot of tension from the wire, even if I install them 3 feet apart. You need to put a lot of tension on the wire because they will not stay straight, leaving gaping openings. I had to add zip ties to add tension but the post eventually bend and you need to re-tension often. It was impossible to make perfect straight lines. Next year I plan to install sturdier posts, but it will incur additional costs to an already expensive system.

Everything you need to build your own Electric Wall

I bought this system in my quest to deal with racoons, possums, and skunks that are digging up my backyard. In the case of the racoons they're also climbing up on my front porch and ripping up the roofing. The kit is actually quite well constructed, and includes everything that you need to electrify your yard. The components in the kit - for the most part - look robust. The only exception being the stakes used to carry the fence. These are made of plastic that I do not expect will last a couple of severe winters. I have not installed the kit, however. I was planning on doing so until I realized that installing electrified fence in the city I live in is against municipal code. It's too bad since I think this is really the only means I have to combat the rodents that are destroying my property.

Extreme measures for little pests..... this works compared to other methods...

Got rid of the raccoons as well as the skunk visitors at night - good thing - I now have flowers and vegies! I put it on a timer so it only turns on at night (even if the yard is fully enclosed). Had tried the scarecrow sprinkler and didn't seem to bother the raccoon at all! Instructions not very clear about if wire can cross/touch etc. I called the help desk (and they answered quite quickly) but the person had trouble answering!

Easy to set up

Only in operation for 1 week, will have to return to see how it works after months. Easy to set up. I have a back yard pond that raccoons find irresistible, but its not big enough for them to wallow and wrangle in. Ringed it with the wire, no more knocked over pond pump, muddy waters, etc.

I put this fence around my pond and it has been fantastic. My fish now have peace from all the animals
