Excellent Acrylics for the Price

These acrylics are very vibrant. They slide onto the canvas very smoothly, and they blend well if you're able to paint quickly. However, none of the colors are anywhere near opaque. That works OK if you work in layers or glazes. The tubes are larger than the W&N Professional line, so you get your money's worth, especially when they're on sale.

Charmed! I have been wanting to add pastels to my watercolor and love this. The hair and fur highlights! The brighter moon and deeper grass tones... These are not dusty and the colors rich! Pics show before and after. Very happy with these!

Great value and quality

These are the paints I use in art class so I bought these to also have at home. The colors are vibrant and I mix well to give a wider range of values.

Love the colors!

Love the colors but wish there were more colors per set. Example would be three greens, two browns, two yellows, an actual deep red, etc.. that artist use when painting landscapes. Call the different groups of colors per what they would be useful for! I just had a hard time finding and buying individual tubes to meet my color pallet. It was frustrating so I thought this would be a great idea. You always need three greens and blues, two grays, two whites and yellows. Spread the art!

Good for beginners.

Winsor and Newton has great paint. I used to buy their oil paints and wanted to try out their acrylics. Titanium White 5/5 | Reliable White. Cadmium Yellow 5/5 | Standard Dandelion White. Winsor Blue 5/5 | This dries down to what I'd call a mix between an Ultramarine and a Prussian Blue - I am NOT an expert. Phthalo Green 5/5 | I'm thinking this is comparable to the Phthalo Green (Blue Hue) as opposed to (yellow hue). Cadmium Red Hue 3/5 | She was thick. It might have been the set I received, but I have have bad luck with red from other vendors. Since I'm a beginner I'm beginning to think I'm cursed when it comes to red paint. Burnt Umber 4/5 | Only because why would you give me a brown in a starter pack and not black? I think this product would sell like hotcakes with that small adjustment. I hated that I had to buy a Black (Mars Black) separately. General information: These clean up and spread nicely. (If you had the same problem with the red as I did, just thin it out a bit and you'll be fine). The item arrived on time, the packaging was useful (the tray was good to hold everything, and you get the standard information card with available colors. I think I'll buy only the colors I use most. That blue, white, and green were real beauties. Happy Painting!

Excellent value, high quality acrylics

I'm learning to paint with acrylics having started my learning as an artist using oils. The problem with oils is that they take ages to get set up, can't be left out when there are kids around, and are a devil to clean up. Acrylics, on the other hand, are water soluble, not toxic and easy to clean (as long as you do it when it's still wet!). This set represents excellent value which means you can freely mess around without feeling as though you're wasting too much. The lack of black is a bit of a problem (sometimes, you really DO need it) but otherwise the set is excellent. Highly recommended.

Variety of colours

I try to paint with less colours, and create my own, but at times, laziness sets in and it is nice to have the whole gamma of colours. These acrylic paints are of high quality and the colours are vibrant.
