You get what you pay for....

Having been raised by a Tradesman father who created, refinished or repaired antiques and high dollar furniture, and having spent many summers in his shop doing the grunt work, I feel especially qualified to rate this cube stack. While it will definitely work in the purpose for which it was purchased, it is cheap, vinyl covered pressboard and will never be confused with a good, or sturdy, piece of furniture. There were a lot of nicks in the raw edges that a saw mucked-up during the construction process of each individual piece. The nicks and gouges were covered by a black magic marker I ran along each, and every, raw edge. Indeed, I found several spots in the pre-drilled holes where the manufacturer used a black marker to "repair" where the drill press gouged the surrounding "wood". Make sure you have a broad-tipped Marks-A-Lot, but do not count on ever using that Marks-A-Lot for anything else but repairs to black or very dark brown edges on some other piece of furniture. When used on each and every raw edge you should be able to hide the imperfections created during the manufacturing process and to create a cleaner effect for the finished construction. There were also 3 or 4 spots where a raw edge was in need of wood glue and a clamp to repair other gouges that seemed to have been made during the packaging process. I have not yet put it all together as the instructions seem pretty straightforward and easy to follow. Delivery was timely, but I really do feel bad that the delivery person had to lug it up three flights of stairs. Lastly, the Espresso color was created by wood grained vinyl, not dark brown paint or a solid dark brown vinyl. Had I known that prior to ordering it, this would have remained in their inventory until the next fool came along and purchased it. Yes...you really and truly do only get what you pay for, but I will definitely have to re-evaluate my thoughts and knowledge on pricing in the modern way of selling to the buying public.

Exactly what I needed!

This is a great shelf with a great price point! The assembly seemed to be a struggle for my husband, as everything sat VERY loosely until every single screw was in place, then it finally shrunk together. Also, one of the pieces was backward, so there is one outer edge piece that has the raw edge instead of the finished edge showing. Overall, this is exactly what I needed and is working great as a dresser AND bookshelf for my toddler!

Wish easier to assemble

Sturdy for the money. Instructions not clear - very poor. Homes did not line up…made it frustrating to put together.

Cubic shelf

Shelf is sturdy and works well as a floor shelf. I actually bought it for a hanging shelf, but it would never hang straight. The item only comes with straps and no hanging tabs. I bought some from the store and they pulled right out when trying to hang the shelf. Would not recommend hanging. The shelf are great floor unit, looks nice and also bought some folding cubes I really like the design.

Very flimsily made

This product is easy to put together, but as you're putting it together it consistently wants to break. My suggestion is to attempt to assemble this in a situation without gravity, as that seems to be the only way to prevent the pieces from falling apart as you add the next piece. Definitely do not try to lean it on its side or in any other way move it until you've completely assembled it. The dowel rods that keep it together snap with the slightest pressure, and the shelves themselves are made of something that resembles dense cardboard. Once I finally got the thing together, it works fine, but I don't plan on putting anything remotely heavy on it because I wouldn't trust it to hold more than 5 pounds per shelf. Had I known this, I would have purchased the more expensive brand found at local stores.

It’s decent, people are too unrealistic

It’s a decent unit, a little expensive for what it is but whatever. It’s decently easy to put together and yes it is very flimsy, until it’s completely together. Could probably hold 50-100lbs easily any day. Good for a bedroom or something similar. My box came as a resale I believe because every bag was covered in packing tape and there were no number markers on the bags so I couldn’t use the instruction manual, but oh well. It is what it is. It’s an amazon unit people, you need to stop complaining about everything.

I used a little pl premium on them when I put them together and wall mounted them in my bedroom they look really good with gray inserts

low quality product with even worse customer service

The product did not have clear instructions, wooden duvels could not stand the weight and cheap quality. After assembling, the whole product fell on my leg and injured my foot. I tried reaching out to customer support in the US via calls and emails but no response from them. So, my advise would be not to waste your money on this low-quality cheap product.
