Don’t buy this!! It is not sturdy and a real PIA

I am a huge fan of umbra brand - but this was a big disappointment. Not sturdy at all falls over all the time the toilet paper flies off of the roll holder and if you want to move it, you have to pick up from the very bottom because the bottom and top donut stick together if that makes sense. Boo. Returning.

efficient way to store and retrieve toilet paper

Holds 6 rolls of paper. Five on the shaft and one on the dispenser arm. Easy retrieval of next roll by straightening the dispenser arm up and sliding next roll up. Very efficient use of space. Also was very easy to assemble.

Simple, whimsical and functional. This unit can hold four rolls of toilet paper in reserve and plain sight, no matter how fat the double rolls get. (Waiting for triple rolls to come out any time now.) With the open-ended holder you need to unroll a bit carefully -- would NOT recommend this for households with cats, rugrats, potty trainees or their elders with limited dexterity/mobility. However, it works very well for my bathroom, since I'm not dealing with any of the aforementioned hazards.

Not so great

This is a great idea however it does not stay together. When you get it at the top where you have the black plastic part that is suppose to hold the toilet paper comes apart very easily.. You have the top area that is a ring you put the black plastic part in and have two separate rings that are suppose to slide in after the black piece that is in the rings continually fall out. It is just poorly made... I will have to figure out a way to make them stay in and still be able to get this thing to stay put together. Update 3/28/2012: I no longer even use this item. I has fallen apart so many times that I finally got tired of having to piece it back together. It is now just sitting in my garage and I am trying to figure out what I can use just the stand for. However as I stated a little earlier above great idea, but its not even worth 10 cents to me. Sorry...

Easily damaged so make sure it's in good condition

When the contractors plastered over the hole for our toilet paper dispenser we were crushed. But this little guy has been a cute addition to our bathroom ever since. I've enjoyed it (The back-up toilet paper rolls give me a place to put my phone).

Love it!

I bought my first one of these in a local store; this is my second one for the other bathroom. I love the idea that the arms lifts up straight so that the paper can be placed on the stand. That puts the paper where it is needed and not in the cabinet where it is often inconvenient to get to in the time of need. Good quality item, worth the purchase price.

My drywall is just old and crumbly, so nothing stays in it for long (eg: towel rod, TP holder). I finally gave up patching/repairing it and purchased this stand. It is PERFECT. I store 5 rolls on it and put it wherever I want and it's problem-free. Nice color, easy to load, sturdy base. If you need a TP dispenser, this one is a good one.

Solid unit

Like all Umbra items this is both stylish and solidly built with impeccable finishing. So many toilet roll holders I checked out were flimsy, ugly, unstable and just poorly designed and made. Not this one. It has a heavy base that doesn't rock or tip in use and the flip loading mechanism is genius. My one criticism is that my holder doesn't make a perfect horizontal so the roll always looks a bit off-kilter.

Unusual and very useful

Bought this holder as i was attracted to the shape and how useful having the spare rolls beneath. It has a lovely finish and looks lovely in the bathroom. I have already recommended it.

Easy to use in a small space

I replaced a different holder that was difficult to reload. This one is so easy to switch toilet rolls over and to reload. You just lift up the roll holder and slip the rolls down the post. It stores 6 extra jumbo rolls and is super easy to clean. The weight on the bottom keeps it upright and has a very small footprint, important when you have a tiny powder room. The satin finish is clean and modern and anything that makes a tiny room look good works for me.

Fantastic Design - Beauty of Simplicity

I loathe wall mounted bathroom bits - if you even need to change, poses sizing issues, potential tile or wallpaper replacement etc. Much better to go free-standing. Have tried many designs over the years but this one is head & shoulders about the rest. Ultra simple, clean lines. Fitting a roll is a piece of cake - just tilt 'beak' up and load - you're ready to go, so to speak. Plus you can load the vertical pole with up to 5 spare rolls. Very stable, too. Will be using this design in all future loos.

Ease of use

My wife who suffered a stroke only has use of one hand. So: 1) To change the roll - it can be done easily by herself with her single hand. 2) I can easily make sure that she has two to three rolls readily available. 3) The product quality and finish appears great. So, it really fits our special needs. If you know of anyone else with similar challenges as my wife, please recommend this product.
