Perfect for a teenaged boy!

I searched for weeks (literally) looking for luggage for my newly teen son. I wanted durable and something that would last him well into adulthood if not forever. I was shopping for myself at the same time and chose a Travelpro set and saw this on their website. Perfect. He now has this and the matching duffle bag for camp. Both are the high “adult” quality I was looking for that won’t need replacing anytime soon.

This bag is SO CLOSE...SO CLOSE...

I am have been hunting for th eperfect travel bag. Well...this one is the BEST I have found so far. My favorite Bag was a hard case 4 wheel spinner...Delsey from France, but it did not have enough easy access pockets. This one has the perfect easy access pockets but it has 2 flaws which dropped the rating down a star. First off, the handle rails inside the back of the case make it impossible to pack easy. The clamshell is great, but the 2 rails going down the inside of the back of the bag are huge. So you have to pack around them. Secondly. The unit is front heavy. So it will fall over sometimes.. And to roll it fast you have to do it with the back side forward because any bump will make the bag want to fall forward. I love the bag. I am keeping the bag. I will use this bag until I can find something even better...I don't think it exists. Don't let my 2 little issues hold you back. This bag is awesome. Looks great, durable, high quality and functional.

Best suitcase I've ever had

I love this bag!. It rolls so easily and effortlessly. The zippers slide open/close without effort and they are heavy duty zippers. The stitching thread is heavy duty. The various handles make it easy to pick up in any manner - by the top, by the ends, by the side. Zippered pockets inside hold larger items than other suitcases I've owned. The side buckles add extra security. I love the color! It's easy to see on the carousel. Just competed a 3rd round trip journey and the case shows very little wear. There are a few scuffs on the attachment for the wheels, but that comes for airpot handling. My husband likes it as well and may be replacing what he has with a TravelPro. My only complaint is that there isn't a matching underseat bag! Guess I'll just have to get the plain black one! I doubt I'll ever switch brands as long as the quality stays the same. Travel Pro is the BEST!

This Travel Pro piece is a true gem. Used it for the first time earlier this week and it didn't disappoint. Depending on the aircraft, it can fit under the seat in front of you, again depending on the aircraft. It also fits in the overhead bins. Love the small zippered pocket on the backside, so perfect for keys or a cell phone. You won't be disappointed in Travel Pro luggage. This is now my fourth piece, all different sizes. Don't hesitate and order this now. Be sure to register your Travel Pro pieces with Travel Pro for their outstanding warranties. Safe travels.

sturdy, external straps not all that bad, but a bit heavy

This review is for the Large bag. My husband and I just used this bag for a 4 week trip (it was our only checkin for the both of us). It held up very nicely. The protective coating kept it looking clean. Very well balanced even with a heavy personal item on top. Sometimes a little hard to steer, but never tipped. Zippers seem very good quality. Inside dimensions are cavernous enough, and any more would make it that much harder to be within the weight limits. Pockets are sufficient as we also use packing cubes. I like the fact that it has the external straps ... yes, they do get in the way some as others have noted, but one quickly gets used to it, as long as you have 2 hands, one to hold strap up, the other to unzip. Before using this bag, I would always insist on an external strap just in case the zippers busted (a not too uncommon occurrence). A few times TSA forgot to put that separate strap back on ($10/strap). And having the strap fall on the floor all the time when the bag was opened was a nuisance. I am considering a 2nd bag, and the Maxlite 5, 25" is enticing as it is 1.6 lbs lighter, but the clincher for this one is the external straps. If I account for an external strap which I would use on the other, then this one is only 1.3 lbs heavier, and 10% more volume, similar price. So, will probably purchase this bag a 2nd time for those trips where we need 2 checked bags.

Seems like a good suitcase

A lot of space for midsized suitcase. Light and rolls nice. Durability remains to be seen, need a few more trips to see if it will hold up.

Seems flimsy

I wanted to like this but I found it to be a little flimsy in construction. Wheels are good but not a good value considering how expensive it is. I can see the straps causing problems with a luggage carousel also.
