My Workhorse!!!

This is a "must have" for my bedroom nightstand. I finally broke down and purchased an Amazon Echo Spot (because it's so darn cute) but was immediately frustrated because I now needed 3 plugs to charge my phone, plug in my Spot and my bedside lamp. I bought the Topgreener USB Wall outlet and voila! problem solved. I'm now able to keep my lamp and Spot plugged in continuously and have my iPhone & Fitbit charging cables at the ready when I need them. One bit of advice: if you have a bulky 2-prong plug, plug it in upside down using the top outlet. That will not obstruct the USB ports. I had my plug installed by a professional electrician and have not had any issues with grounding, sparks, mild shocks as others have experienced. The product and professional installation was well worth the expense. I'm buying a few more for my other bedrooms. My guests will be impressed. :-)

Good Product - easy to install

So we purchased this to reduce the spaghetti effect on our counter i the area where we charge devices.. Historically we've use multipart charging solutions that get plugged into the outlet. This product is as advertised and technically allows you to charge four devices at once in a single outlet. I definitely recommend buying this product. A word of caution however, while it certainly charges faster than comparable lower watt products when it comes to charging times. It isn't quite as fast as the Brick that comes with the iPad. we are not overly impacted by this as we typically plug in before we go to bed. make sure you get the right product for your home 15AMP vs. 20 AMP, also double check the number of wires you have coming into the existing outlet, mine had four wires plus the ground.

BEWARE! Works Fine, but may not fit in your electrical box

i was looking for a high power USB charger to fast-charge my phones and power my Echo Dot. This looks like it will do the job and Alexa seems happy. BUT these devices are much deeper than a standard outlet and it didn't fit into a "deep" box without some modification to the box, so what I thought would take 15 minutes was more like 45 by the time I figured out the problem and resolved it. You can see in the photos the difference in depth and if you look carefully at the box (purchased from a big-box home-building store) the tabs along the side prevent the outlet from seating...I needed to break off about 1/4" on each side to make it fit.

The amazing thing about this unit is the interchangeable face cover

Genius! How come up with this idea. Not only 2 Tamper-Resistant AC outlets, but you also get 2 high speed USB charging ports. I installed it beside my bed, and I can charge my phone and kindle without the bulky wall warts. No worry about where to place my chargers anymore. The amazing thing about this unit is the interchangeable face cover. I didn’t know this feature at the beginning, but when I open the package and saw 2 different color face covers included in the package, I know I missed something. Eventually I figured out the face cover can be changed to different colors based on you own favor. There is a picture on the third instruction page to show how to change the face cover. The product has great quality, and solid design. I gave five stars to this smart ideal. I have recommended this unit to my friends and will buy some more for my office.

One great thing is if your box is Wide- you can ...

This Product is quality- from the Front Plate to the Back. One thing I might say is the TopGreener is a LARGE Receptacle... so if you're expecting to fit it in a narrow wall receptacle it might not fit. One great thing is if your box is Wide- you can side wire (Edison Loops) which is code in the NEC... however if your receptacle is narrow you can wire in the rear of the box (strip and insert wires in the rear of the box). The included USB Ports are indeed 4.8v on each one and this device does have a voltage limiter that stops charging the device when the battery is fully charged! The other thing is this Receptacle does handle 20amp plugs (one straight/one sideways) and the anti-tamper plugs don't seem as hard to insert plugs into as others do!

Still better and faster than a mess of wall chargers

Works and costs less than the name brand - what more do you want? I bought 2 and installed them where the family collection of cell phones often ends up charging. Replaced the existing outlets without any issues. Now the phones charge faster and without all the extra chargers hogging the outlets. Most two prong plugs can coexist at the same time the USB charging port is being used but three prong plugs can be too big to be used at the sametime. Still better and faster than a mess of wall chargers. I will buy this item again.

I like the Topgreener USB outlet much better than the Lutron

I like the Topgreener USB outlet much better than the Lutron, because at 4.8 amps, it has the power to charge a tablet, in my case an iPad. The 2.4 Amp from Lutron, will charge a tablet, but it takes much longer. If you are using a tablet while it is charging the 4.8 will keep up where as the 2.4 just discharges more slowly. I have used Lutron for years and would not have tried Topgreener if Lutron had a comparable product. As of 2016, they just don't. Topgreener has won me over. I have been using the TG devices in my home for a year now. Quality seems to be at or above Lutron.

It is difficult to push some 110 cords into the outlets themselves. The usb charging is nice.

Too wide for standard device box.

This device barely fits in a standard device box, leaving at most 0.5mm of clearance between the device sides and the device box itself. Since the terminal screws are on the sides, there is a very likely possibility that this could cause an electrical fire if the device terminal screws come in contact with the metal device box. I had installed it, thinking I had tightened the screws enough so the plug wouldn't move when I plug something in it, but being a TR plug requiring more pressure to push in the prongs, the plug moved just enough to force the terminal screw on one side to touch the device box. I'd recommend only of you have an oversized device box, otherwise, I consider this a fire hazard.
