A classic, but less nice than the classic
The classic SOMA cube was a great puzzle/toy. This version is a faithful interpretation of the original, but some corners have been cut to make it easier to manufacture that weaken the overall experience. There are visible gate marks, knit lines, misalignments, and adhesive on the individual pieces, some more than others, and there's some flash on some of the parts, though not a lot. These things are easy to overlook and not unusual. There are also assembly gaps here and there, which is less ignorable. But the issue that really affects the experience is a design choice. The toy is an assemblage of 27 small cubes, arranged into groups of four and one group of three. You're meant to assemble them into various compositions and have them look nice once you've done so. But since the surfaces of these cubes are matte, which was likely chosen so that the molds would last longer, there's a little bit of draft to make the cubes release from the mold more easily. (Draft is when the sides of a shape are made not parallel.) A cube with draft isn't actually a cube; cubes with draft do not fit tightly together without introducing misalignments elsewhere. The original SOMA cubes had no draft so the sides of the cubes were parallel and the cubes fit tightly together. To get them out of the mold, the original cubes needed to have a smooth shiny finish. Since these do not, and since they have some draft as a result, they don't fit tightly together; they fit together sloppily. The experience suffers as a result.

Puzzles are everywhere
All I can say is get ready to strain your brain. This is a very fun addictive game. You sit down look at the photo and try your best to recreate it.. sound simple enough, but it's far from simple. I found my self trying over and over and over and..... over. But the funny thing is that when people see you doing it they always think they can do it and once they sit down and try, they find their self stuck in the seat trying to figure out how come they can't recreate a simple looking photo. This is a fun & challenging, but be warned if you are some one who gets upset easy or mad when you can't figure something out then it's best to skip this game. But if you like a great challenge & love puzzles, then this is a game for you. You feel like a kid when you finally get a puzzle and when you cant get it and use the cheat sheet you ask your self how come I could not see that. I have to say this is a very fun & challenging game. Change the Way You Think
I have a TBI, so I that it was difficult for me at first. Using the hints didn't work, so I struggling. I took it to work and placed on my cabinet. My coworker finished in 2-3 minutes. After he shared how I should be looking at it, I realized I was thinking the wrong way. I've done several with the hints and everyone in the loves it. I purchased one for my nephew who recently had a stroke. He is work in progress but he'll get it.

Great game, but better played alone
What a great find. This puzzle game is not just for children, definitely challenging for adults as well. An enjoyable way of practicing spatial skills. The only thing that would make this game better would be if it could be played by two people more easily (for example, if the pieces were in two different colors like in Shape by Shape).

fun for two
I first found this game at a restaurant in South Korea. I was instatly hooked on this game. My girlfriend loves doing crossword puzzles and sudoku, so when she first found out I had one, I had to get a second one. We usually play sudoku head to head (she was the one who taught me how to play sudoku, I had never even finished one until she showed me how), but we enjoy this one better. We pick a random challenge card from the deck and see who finishes the puzzle first. It way more fun with two. I got the second puzzle from Amazon, which was about $5 cheaper than the one I picked up in Seoul. The deck of challenge cards keeps the game intresting. I don't think I would have kept it longer than a week if it weren't for the cards. All in all it's a great puzzle game.

Great logic game
Great logic game, except that it basically begins at the advanced level (how's that for an oxymoron?). Consequently, the learning curve is quite steep when it really shouldn't be. The shapes should begin from easiest to more advanced but that's just not the case. The first challenge took me a couple of hours to figure out. The 2nd took about 2-minutes. The 3rd took several hours. That being said, if you like logic games that makes you feel really, really stupid... this one is for you!!!

The game is useful and interesting. The colour of the block was a terrible dirty green and dull. The material also feels like a cheap one. If only the material was good and made out of an attractive colour it would have got a 5* from me.
