seem very tough but hard to know how to inflate
The buoys did not come with any instructions on how to fill. I tried going to YouTube to find out how, but could not get mine filled . I tried used a bike tire pump with TMP inflation needles and just could not get any air in after I unscrewed what I thought was the top part of the valve. The next day I took the buoys to my marina for inflation. It was there that we discovered that the full valve needed to come out to get air in. One of the buoys could not accept air because the full valve separated into 2 pieces, one stuck in the buoy and the other came out with the screwdriver. I contacted Taylor and they were kind enough to email me instructions which did not come with the product. For now the problem is solved, however I give these a "1" for instructions and "how to" inflate them. Once inflated they are fine, and the product quality is a "5." I did a sample test on the boat against the dock they are great quality, they do work as advertised. If they dis-inflate over time, I will just take them back to my marina service desk for an air refill. Ask Taylor to send you inflation instructions.

Could be a 5 star but..........
I own 12 total Taylor tough end fenders. 6-8” cylindrical, 2-18” buoy and 4-12” buoy. Very good quality material but the trivalve is tricky. It’s easy to fill but 5 out of the 12 would not hold air. After experimenting with 30 weight oil, WD 40 and even degreaser to attempt to get the valves to hold on the 5 offending valves I finally found the cure. Take the valve out, use rubbing alcohol to clean then lube the entire valve in dawn dishwashing soap including they threads. Re-install, fill with air and you should be good to go.

As described
Before purchasing this product I was a little reserved about all of the reviews saying it was impossible to inflate. I bought two of them and they arrived this morning. At first I got very frustrated because like all other reviews indicated I was unable to inflate the buoys. However, after looking at the design I figured there was no way that a needle for basketballs could inflate these as the directions state. I decided I would turn on my air compressor and try anyway just for kicks before taking them to my boat dealer. While I'm not sure if a bicycle pump would have enough pressure to inflate these, my air compressor with a basketball needle installed had no problem inflating both of the buoys within 45 seconds. Again, not sure if a bicycle pump could do it, especially since you have to hold the needle inside the triple action valve while inflating the buoy, but with an air compressor it was no problem at all. Hope this helps some people that had problems in the past or for people on the fence with a purchase of this item. If anyone needs a video of how I inflated the buoy just let me know and I post a video review to show how simple and quick it is.

Very nice fenders
I actually bought one size bigger than recommended and I'm glad I did. These are excellent bumpers. I did have a leak in both when I got them but simply pulled out the valve and put some 0-ring grease on them and problem solved. Have had them inflated for several months and they are perfect. Much better than the cylindrical fenders I've used my whole life. Would highly recommend but watch the size. Bigger is better when it comes to protecting your boat. From a performance standpoint, they get 5 stars but because of the leaking valve that I had to fix, I'll give them 4 stars. And by the way, better than a year in, they are still holding air perfectly!

Won’t inflate with rubber compressor nozzle
Excellent fender with poor quality inflation valves. Instructions say you can inflate with a compressor nozzle (no needle) but I couldn’t get that to work on 3 of 4 I purchased. Get the “professional 3-piece basketball inflator” here on Amazon. Uses the typical basketball needle with the power and speed of a compressor. Also, 2 of 4 leaked at the valve. Customer Service sent replacements quickly, it this shouldn’t have happened.

Does the Job!
This is exactly what I wanted to add to my home gym. It has a nice “pop” went hit and provides excellent resistance. I filled it with water which wasn’t easy but neither was hanging it to my ceiling with one hand. Well made 5 stars.

50% failure rate
Not sure if it's a specific supplier, or a direct problem of the manufacturer but on average half of these fenders don't hold pressure for more than a day. I purchased four last season to replace my old fenders and this Spring two were unable to hold pressure. I ordered two more this season to replace and inflated them at home with the intention of replacing those on the boat the following day. The next morning one of the two was partially deflated. A solid 50% failure rate months apart and on two seperate orders.

Same as "Aqua Bag", except doesn't come with nozzle
Huge, huge pain to fill. It doesn't come with a nozzle, so unless you want a half-full bag, you must also purchase a brass hose nozzle. To be fair, it isn't meant to be filled with water. If you buy the more expensive one (Aqua bag), it comes with a nozzle to make filling easier. For the record, we use these buoys for boxing. Update: changing from 1 star to 3 stars, because I was (finally) able to mount it,.and it works well as a punching bag, even when only 75% full. Recommended to get a brass hose nozzle to fill it up all the way, if that's what you want.

Defective. Deflates in 24 hours.
Bought two of these late last summer but weren't used until now. Just put them out this spring and neither holds air.. they both leak and deflate in 24 hours. Trying to figure out warranty and refund/replacement options.
