Temp works but arrow piece falls off

The temp seems accurate! BUT it has a little arrow that moves around and it keeps falling off. I have babies and obviously can't have tiny sharp metal objects laying around so it's very stressful every time it falls off. Which is alot. That's why I gave it 4 stars. But the thermometer is great!

Great Thermometer

Easy to use and read meat thermometer, just set the "reminder" to the correct temp and know at a glance your dinner is ready. We keep a few of these for multiple meat uses.

Good. Thicker than I expected.

Good. Accurate (I tested it against other thermometers). The probe is pretty chunky. I was disappointed by the massive hole it makes in the meal, but it does measure pretty well.

The numbers and letters are somewhat difficult to read unless you are viewing them head on at a realitively short distance- not always possible if you are reading the thermometer that is in the oven.

Its a good thermometer and a smaller diameter that works well when being used in my rotisserie while most are too large a diameter for such use.

Piece of Junk!!

I used this for the first time yesterday and it only read around 120 to 130, yet it seemed to me that the pork tenderloin I was cooking should have been sufficiently done ( I cut into it to check and it was). Later, I tested the thermometer by putting the tip in boiling water and it only read 180. No way to calibrate it, so it's now in the garbage can. Only paid $4 for it but really disappointed that Taylor ( which used to be known for good quality) would sell garbage like this.

Food safety

I invested in this thermometer for food safety purposes. I want to know what I am eating has been heated enough to be safe to eat. I thought getting this would help with that. It is a nice thermometer and I have not had any issues with it. I would suggest if you eat meat or cook out side over a bar b q maybe this would help insure you don't make your family ill with improperly cooked meat.
