Dishwasher & oven safe

I bought two of these because I was cooking two leg of lamb roasts simultaneously with the convection roasting setting in my oven. The HIC thermometer is actually better than this one because although the dial is the same size, the type is larger and easier to read - especially through an oven window. I wouldn't buy this one again, although it works perfectly fine. Whereas if the HIC oven proof thermometer broke, I would totally buy that one again. Sorry not sorry, but these eyes are not getting any younger and I need larger type / font.

Nice quality

Made as expected and easy to read dial. Don’t drop it or the glass window will break. I want to keep it in the meat while it is in the oven so it has to be glass.

Better than the fancy electric one

Last year, the fancy electric thermometer read that the turkey wasn't done long after it was perfect. This old fashioned one worked perfectly. High tech doesn't always mean better.

Doesn't work!

Ordered and didn't use until a month later. Needle never moved. Cant get a refund because it's over a month. Spend the extra few bucks for something better and make sure you try it out right away!
