Nice quality little pot
All-Clad pots and pans are generally excellent, and this one is no exception. I’ve deducted one star because if you are trying to cook pasta with the insert, you really only get a 2” deep space to cook your pasta, which won’t work well for long pasta such as spaghetti or linguine, nor for a large family meal. I probably won’t ever use the insert, but the main pot is just right for a pound of pasta. If you’re cooking more than that, you’ll probably want a larger pot. This might vary by seller, but I received the pot in just its single layer of retail packaging, which was much the worse for wear from the shipping process. Not really an issue for me, but potentially a problem if you are buying this as a gift.

It is a bit heavy, but it is the perfect pasta pot. You can also use it for soups, etc.

Solid Pot, Marks would be helpful
This was a solid pot and works really well for what it was designed for. I would have appreciated some fill markings on it to help know how much water to fill in it for the insert. Unfortunately got some spots on the bottom after boiling water. Maybe due to calcification? Will have to see if I can get them removed but doesn't take away from the functioning of the pot.

Attractive and quality made
This quality pasta pot is beautiful and well made. Sturdy, yet not too heavy. I was looking forward to using it to replace a well-worn pot I currently own, but realized this pot is a bit too small for my needs. I am returning it for that reason alone, and will seek a larger All-Clad pot for my family's needs.

Why did I wait so long!
Gone are the days where you can pour your boiling hot pasta water down the drian... you know the ones I am talking about ... pvc pipes. I used to think this item was silly, but then the house I was in had metal pipes... those don't bend to the will of boiling water the same way as the pvc pipes do. We decided to go with the smaller 6 quart size as we don't cook for an army anymore. The smaller size is easy to handle, weight is less when the water is cool enough to pour out the drain. This model is also induction ready! So when you do decide to feed the army... and run out of burners on the stove ... hello hot plate! Is it pricey? Yes. But it also comes with a warranty. More so, a name I trust. So yeah, look at other cheaper models - but if that one is crap and now you have to buy another... you have just spent as much as you would have if you just bought the right thing the first time. Just remember this is a 6 qt --- not the giant 12 gt kind. Hope this helps you make up your mind as to what kinda pasta pot you need. Happy day all!

All my pots & pans are All-Clad & this was a great addition - good for pastas but could also be used for steaming or blanching veggies.

It works well.
Make sure you put insert pot in to make sure you have not put to much water in it. It will boil over if you don't check. My pot inside did discolor a little not sure if it happen in dishwasher or I tried to cook spinach in it. Still would recommend the pot.
