Meaure your head Circumference

If your head measures 21 1/2" - 24" this is a great hat for you outdoors. The brim is enormous and shades your eyes with ease. There is a pony tail hole so you can pull a braid or pony tail through it for greater comfort and stability. There is an adjustment strap to tighten the cap circumference. The chin cord has a reliable adjustment toggle to keep the hat from blowing off in windy weather. The neck drape is ample. You can pack this flat or roll it for trips. The fabric is SPF 50 and is quick drying. I got mine in the color Amethyst, which is like an orchid purple. I use it for gardening and hiking at high altitude. Only detraction of this design, compared with other Sunday Afternoon hats, is the lack of ventilation. It can get hot inside the hat when wearing it in a desert. That's why I say 4/5 stars.

Great color, great coverage, very feminine!!!!!

I read with HORROR some of the reviews that spoke of this hat coming folded down the middle with an impossible to remove crease. Mine did NOT come that way—the whole brim was on top with the back “veil” tucked under. I would have sent it back otherwise—I made sure there was a “free return” policy just in case someone did crease the hat. The color is a beautiful fuchsia, bright but not ridiculous—my husband will find me easily visible when we are hiking or in a crowd. The front brim provides coverage for my whole face—the hat is UPF 50+ and it comes with a LIFETIME warranty against defects in material or workmanship. I am VERY happy to say that it is NOT a product of Comminist China, but rather Vietnam. You can hand wash it in cold water but the UPF will only allow for 30 total washes. That seems reasonable since I won’t be wearing it every day—it should last through a lot of years as my walking and hiking hat. I LOVE the very functional feminine style—the back fabric cascades over your neck and shoulders so no sunscreen is necessary there (depending on your shirt—I mostly wear regular t-shirts or 3/4 length sleeve shirts with complete shoulder coverage). I hate the greasy feel of sunscreen on my skin so this is the perfect hat for me. I will only need some sunscreen (probably) on my chin and the sides of my cheeks that are not covered by my long hair. I think this hat is VERY well made and a GREAT value for the price. I only wish that it had come in royal blue also (which would have gone with more of my clothes).

Excellent wide brim, but could use a seam for folding

This is an excellent hat for sun protection. I would definitely buy another one, although if the brim could be folded in half, as some other sun hats can, that would be a significant upgrade. It's very large to carry if it's not on your head. My other sun hat can be folded and put into a backpack easily. But the ultra wide rim on this hat still makes for superior sun protection.

Too Big and Neck Flap Makes Swish Noise

I had high hopes for this sun hat because it is so attractive and has a wide brim. However, although the hat is adjustable, it still was a bit too big on my average sized female head and it tended to fall down over my forehead. The neck flap in the back brushed against my tee shirt making a soft, swishing noise that I didn't like. I removed the hat after a few steps and returned it. I will try to find a wide brimmed hat that fits better. By the way, I have a thick ponytail and there is enough room under the hat to flip my ponytail up rather than putting it through the hole. The neck flap looks better without the ponytail hanging down.

This is a wonderful hat

Years ago I got my first Sunday Afternoons' hat. I love it. It is very attractive and offers great protection from the sun. I keep it at work and wear it when I go out in the sun for breaks. I was delightfully surprised that Amazon was carrying the this brand of hats and offering them at great prices. Sunday Afternoons' is a great company. I recently purchased this one and one more.

Brim folded when shipped

Using mainly for daily walks around the neighborhood. Disappointed in shipping--it came in a plastic envelope, with brim folded. Haven't been able to fully smooth the crease. Otherwise--fits fine, brim and neck flap protect from sun.

Generous brim and neck/shoulder cover

OK, I also bought it for the color - it matches my favorites summer overshirt. But I do love its light weight, cool fabric (as in doesn’t heat my head up) and adjustability. Don’t need sunglasses when wearing it due to the deep, wide-sprung brim. Especially get compliments on it at the garden center.

Light and full coverage

Well made and functional, if you like the look

We have similar hats for our infant son and absolutely love them, so my wife decided to try one for herself. I must say that they do look a little dorky and not quite as good as in the pictures, but still extremely functional and well made if you like the look. May be great for a cottage or a beach. Unfortunately, our hat arrived with a big permanent crease in the visor thanks to being folded stuffed into a yellow Amazon envelope and we had to send it back. We got a refund because my wife was much more fond of her Tilley hats after trying this one on

Not perfect

Yes, the strap falls not in front of the ear, like another Sunday Afternoons hat, but in the middle of the ear. I would say that’s not ideal, because when you use the ponytail holder without putting your hair in an elastic, the heaviness of the hair causes the front brim to rise up.

Buena relación precio calidad

Segundo gorro que compro, hace 8 años me compré el primero y nunca perdió la forma, aún doblándolo sólo perdió color, y ahora éste. Sólo que llegó medio doblado de la vicera pero sin perder su forma, sólo espero la misma calidad que el primero que compré

Beautiful, functional sunhat!

I always get compliments when I wear this. A number of my friends have ordered one too. Very flattering waterfall veil in the back. Love the adjustable tab in back & best of all, a super wide brim for ultimate protection. I have the visor hat from this company too. Both are great.
