Great back support brace
I have chronic back pain from an accident 3 years ago.. i switch back braces every week or so to not have my back tire.. this is a great brace. Its easy to use and provides plenty of support. The only complaint is it is a little itchy.. i wear my back brace under my shirts as im self conscious. Overall great product.

Does not stay in place, poor velcro design, support is not amazing.
I've used this brace for over a year, about 2-3 months wearing it everyday. It is not worth its price and shock doctor should be ashamed that they are selling such an inferior product for nearly double the price of what many other better back braces cost. The biggest problem is Shock Doctor's fetish with its own branding. It has slapped a big patch of its logo with a smaller non-removable tag in the front of the brace, taking away arguably the most valuable velcro areas. You either over tighten to stick past the logo patch, or suck it up with a loose left side. The velcro tightening straps also cannot overlap each other, further limiting your options when putting on this brace. The top and down orientation is also unnecessary in my opinion, and further shows their lack of design forethought. I've worn this brace upside down and right side up many times to compare, and the difference is minimal. The three plastic support beams look tough, but they just don't do a whole lot. Overall you can't get this brace to be very tight, no matter how hard you tug or suck in your own stomach while putting it on. I have fractured discs in my l5 and l6, and I sometimes consider not using the brace despite the pain because putting it on is SUCH A PAIN. When you sit down, it pops off. When you stand up, it pops off. I've cleaned the velcro over and over again, manually picking out hair and other debris to no improvement in adhesiveness. The designer of this product would not recommend their loved ones to use this product if they had any experience with it themselves. Shock Doctor is a "luxury" brand in this field, or at least they see themselves that way, and their products have become more form over function.

Overall, I like this back brace. Visit the Shock Doctor website for sizing. I am 5' 11" and 196 pounds. I measure 35 inches around the belly when relaxed. I ordered the "small/medium" size. This brace fits me and provides comfortable support. I wear this brace at the tightest position to which it can possibly stretch. I want to have as much compression as I can find. If I would purchase this again, I would buy an even smaller size so I can get even more compression.

A lot of support on my back I like it, but the only thing that drives me crazy is the Velcro. It doesn't stick after a few months I used it. Now I have to put my pants on top to make it stay.
