New Cap SUCKS

I've been using this detergent for many years, and I'm generally a big fan of Seventh Generation products. The new cap (as of late 2022? early 2023?) is AWFUL. I cannot fathom what the designers were thinking. There is no way in this or any universe that this cap went through R&D. Whoever "designed" it (I use that term loosely) and approved it should be fired. It doesn't allow the detergent left in the lid to drain back into the bottle, so when you screw the cap on it just all squelches out and becomes disgusting. I'm going to switch to something else until they fix the cap, it's THAT bad.

Love the product. Hate the new bottle/cap design.

I am a raving fan of this laundry detergent but the new bottle and cap design will likely prompt me to make a change. The new design does not allow the residual liquid in the cap to make its way back into the bottle without oozing out around the seal and subsequently dripping down the bottle. It has created another mess to clean up, and who needs to clean up after their cleaning supplies? Please, Seventh Generation, improve the packing.

New cap design will lose customers

I have used Seventh Generation laundry detergent for many years, and loved the product. As other reviewers this spring have been saying, I too absolutely DESPISE the new dark green cap design. You can't see the markings inside the cap, no matter how strong your lighting is, so "measuring" the amount you want to pour for your wash load is total guesswork. And, as other reviewers and photos have shown, there is no way to avoid having liquid detergent build up an icky, sticky ring around the bottom edge of the cap, dripping down the outside of the bottle. I was at the grocery store yesterday and checked the laundry aisle: ALL of the Seventh Generation laundry detergent bottles, regardless of size, now have this new cap design! Very disappointing. I have postponed my Subscribe and Save delivery of Seventh Generation laundry detergent until next November, in the hope that Seventh Generation will come to their senses and restore the old clear small cap design. In the meanwhile, I am switching to powdered homemade laundry soap--maybe forever. (5 stars for the detergent + 0 stars for the new cap design = 3 stars for "Meh")

New bottle is a downgrade!

I have been using this detergent for years. It gets clothes clean, is great for my family's sensitive skin with no dyes or scents, love that it's plant based and perhaps most importantly the company does not test on animals. I do have one gripe - it's the new bottle! The measurements inside the green cap are nearly impossible to see! I'm so glad a read a recent review and didn't put the old bottle in the recycling! Also, the new bottle is somehow bigger even though it's also 40oz. I'm not sure what the logic is behind this new bottle. Please bring the old design back!!!!

New, green lid is awful

This has been my go-to laundry detergent for years. I've dealt with some interesting packaging changes, but none have been as messy as this green lid. Not sure what the manufacturer was thinking, but the former packaging was the best.

Great for sensitive skin

I would usually get whichever detergent I can find in stores however I noticed that I am always itchy whenever I wear clothes that were just watched. After buying this product, and washing a huge load of clothes, I noticed that I don't have that issue anymore. I am happy with my purchase. I just wish the bottle was bigger!! I will definitely need to be ordering more soon
