Handles Easily Switch, Best Price, Great Door Knob
We built our house about 3 years ago and they outfitted our entire house with these door knobs. However, some doors had non-locking knobs installed, while other strategic doors had locking knobs installed. Interestingly enough, they failed to put a locking knob on the actual bathroom door where your business is done. We had the builder replace that with a locking knob for free. Believe it or not, they resisted, saying that the outer door to the bathroom locked. Anyway, I digress... The point is that we've been using these knobs for 3 years with no complaints. The kids were fighting over the door to their bathroom one day and they broke the lock. I had to replace that and had a hard time finding the exact same knob. I eventually found it on another site and I believe it cost me close to $40 with shipping, etc. My wife has an office in the house and kids tend to barge in on her and she expressed wanting a lock on her door. I went to the same site I bought from before, but they were out of stock. Uh oh, I thought... maybe I'm going to be out of luck. I took down the specs for the knob and searched on Amazon and viola... instant knob with lock for only about $22 and free shipping. Prime 2 day shipping at that. Knob got here in record time and went in easily. Now, installation was a lot easier for me than others because I already had the other parts of the knob installed. I only needed to replace the locking parts. Two screws and shazam! Installed. However, it was upside down. I went back to the directions and they showed me how to swap the handles to the other side of the knob so they would be oriented correctly. My wife had no idea the knob was in, and I installed it while she was out working. I was going to let her just discover it on her own, but when she got home, she was in there and said she needed to change. I looked at her and said, "Ok, I'll just let you do that then." Then, I locked her door (so she would notice) and started closing it and she did her happy dance and gleefully expressed her happiness. Mission accomplished!

Bargain!
If you are looking for a budget lever style door knob that looks expensive then this one is it. Nothing else looks as good at this price! From the weight and feel, you can tell the handles are solid metal and not some cheap lightweight hollow junk from China. I like the lever style because it's a lot easier to tighten the screws. The regular style knobs are harder because unless you have a low profile screwdriver you have to angle the screwdriver to tighten it so you can easily round out the screw head if you are not careful. I can tighten the screw on these with a regular screwdriver straight and less chance of rounding it out. I installed these in 10 of my doors and on a couple of doors where I had to switch the inside and outside handles, it took less than 1 min to do, maybe not even 30 seconds. Very, very pleased! Those knobs from Chinese companies are cheaper and they definitely look and feel cheap but even though these are also low priced, they look and feel like some of the more expensive handles. I also really liked that it is the push button lock rather than the lock that you twist. The only con I can say is that there descriptions are not very detailed. They only had one pic of the outside lever and really didn't list specifically what was included. At that price, I almost thought they were just selling the outside lever. But they do include all the hardware needed for you door.

I switched to all these because I have hand pain, and gripping a round handle was unpleasant. These look great. I love that I can open doors with the bottom of a laundry basket (no hands!). You can install them like the picture, but actually that is considered "upside-down". The entire line of these door handles have a little bit of give (you can wiggle the handle without it engaging anything). It's a bit strange for it to be wobbly like that, but it doesn't effect the function or the appearance. In my small house we have numerous doors that open into other doors (like a closet perpendicular from the outside door, etc) or are just downright tiny. These handles tend to catch on each other, and on clothes in tight spaces. Factor that in before you redo your whole house. Didn't ding anything for that - that's a flaw of our house, not the item! These are also way too pricey for a doorknob. Having said that, I did redo the whole house knowing how pricey they were, so must be worth it? Would I buy again? 50/50 chance (just soooo pricey - I'd have to think about it). I'd probably choose another schlage handle in this style that isn't quite so fancy.

Best Prices I Found
Great quality door handle. This was the lowest price on these door handles that I found vs. in the local stores. I asked Schlage what the difference is in the ones at the big box store with almost the exact same product number and they said the only difference was the box. The stores have better looking boxes and the ones sold here are plain boxes. So you pay for the better looking boxes in the stores and get the same thing I got on Amazon for less. I will be buying more of these great door handles soon to finish the updates to the house.

Quality in construction and appearance
Building an addition and replaced all locusts throughout old and new home. Not a cheap upgrade, but worth every penny. The cheaper products are tempting (they look very similar in photographs) and I initially made the mistake of trying to save a buck and ordered them, but when they arrived they were so cheaply made that I immediately returned them and bought the Schlage brand (I knew better - I've always purchased Schlage in the past). No regrets! Since door handles are something we all touch endlessly everyday - these are totally worth the slightly extra cost!
